Like Jay and Silent Bob Reboot - most of the "fan service" was self-referential garbage, jokes that don't stand on their own and only serve to remind you that you watched the previous movies. Or worse, the moment where they zoom in on a face and say "Hey! We got this guy in the movie! You like him/her, right?? They do cool stuff too ; )"

I couldn't finish Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, will Bill and Ted 3 suck?

At this point, Kevin Smith is only making movies for his family and for his fans.

I love all the circle jerky comedy. I dont care what the movies about, I just love seeing all the characters etc

Bill and Ted 3 does not do that, the movie is really just a continuation of the second movie more or less. Most people seem to find it a solid movie, not great or incredible but above average.

If you liked the first two movies odds are you like this movie, it's a bit tougher to watch if you haven't seen the first two movies though because it spends very little time going over the events of those movies.

The jay and silent bob reboot is at least more entertaining than bill and ted face the music. One is a love letter to the askewaverse. The other is keanu helping an old friend get mailbox money.

If we're being honest, Kevin Smith's best movie is Red State. I think it's a masterpiece.

They made the movie because they wanted to and Keanu being a big fan of the series was a big part of why it was made. Alex Winter hasn't even tried to act in quite a while, acting like he was desperate to get a movie role is wrong.

Again Alex Winter doesn't want to be an actor dude he does all his work behind the scenes now. Quit acting like it was all done so Alex Winter could get a paycheck. You have no clue what you are talking about, it's like someone claiming that all retired actors really want to continue acting and that they would do anything they could to do so.

In fact if you look at Alex Winters wiki page he has directed 18 movie, and written around half of the films he directed looks like he is doing just fine. He also has done directing of TV shows on top of that.

Get a grip dude, the guy was blatantly ignoring facts to post shit about well Keanu is a nice guy so he wanted to help Alex out and that is why he made the movie.

In 2020 it seems like 95% of the world lives in their own reality. I like Keanu quite a bit but claiming he only made this movie to help Alex is bullshit period.

If anything, the opposite is true. Keanu's the one who has been desperate to do this movie for like 20 years, Alex Winter is the one who had to be talked into doing it.

Alex Winter is pretty comfortable financially (and his wife is in a pretty significant position in television production as well). He almost certainly has more money that literally anyone posting on PotD right now. He didn't need to do this movie. And he doesn't really enjoy acting - like a lot of actors, he found the art of filmmaking behind the camera to be more fulfilling than just playing roles. That started as early as the 90s (it's why he did Idiot Box and Freaked), and it's sort of morphed into a passion for doing documentary films on subjects that interest him personally.

Keanu mostly just wanted to do it because he really, really enjoyed working on the first two films. He really likes Alex, but he also liked the two writers, and has repeatedly commented multiple times that making the original Bill and Ted movies were some of the best times he's ever had as an actor. He really just wanted to get a chance to hang out with all those people again, and have a fun couple of months making a new film. Every time talk about this comes up, it's always Keanu who seems to be the one pushing for it the hardest (even at times when Keanu's career wasn't all that stellar either - he put out a lot of dogshit movies between The Matrix and John Wick)

If anything, the fact that this movie exists at all was Alex Winter doing a favor for Keanu, not the reverse.

Realistically, it's very much on par with Andrew Ridgeley from Wham. People always same him as the failure of the group, and assumed he'd be desperate to do a reunion to grab a little bit more money and relevance, but George Michael is the one who basically spent 20 years constantly trying to talk him into doing a Wham reunion (or even just showing up for guest appearances at George Michael concerts whenever he was in the UK), and Andrew Ridgeley was always like "Nah, I'm good." He was financially secure, and was just enjoying the hell out of riding horses, racing cars, supporting charities he believed in, and fucking one of the chicks from Bananarama on a regular basis. He had ZERO interest in getting back on stage because he was already living his best life. Whereas George Michael constantly brought it up and tried to kind of wheedle him into doing it because he thought it would be super-fun for the two friends to be out there performing together again, even if only for one night.

There are plenty of people in the world who find more fulfilling things than being in the spotlight.

You seem really bitter and anrgry about this whole thing. At his point I'm just going to assume Alex Winter ran over your dog or something, and now you've sworn a vendetta against him that can only end when one of you are dead.

So of course, you've chosen the most effective and vicious form of vengeance - badmouthing him on an Internet web-site about video games that was pretty much obsolete 12 years ago. THAT will show him!

You aren't wrong, but I thought the first movie was tolerable, they turned that shit up to 11 for the reboot. The first one was probably 1/3 nods and nudges. The second was 2/3 nods and nudges - 1/3 of the movie was original contented. 1/3 was just variants of the first movie's little pokes to the Askewniverse overall. The final 1/3 were cheeky references to the first Jay and Silent Bob movie. I've had my fill of self-reference as the joke for the rest of my life (or until dementia sets in.)
