I watched the original Higurashi but don't really remember much about it.

Yeah the 2006 version had pretty good quality animation in general. I'm more of a season 2+ animation guy though. I feel like the season 1 style made some of the scene look too cartoony

The Journey Of Elaina had a fun start, Yashahime's first episode was mostly just an epilogue for the original Inuyasha to set up the new cast, and I can't watch the first episode of Sport Climbing Girls yet because it's not up on VRV yet despite being on the main Crunchyroll app already. So my Saturday has been decent so far. Now I'm just gonna play some Pokemon and watch some stuff on Youtube. How about you guys?

Warlords of Sigrdrifa had a fantastic first episode (which was 48 minutes long). I'm a sucker for dogfights and all of the main girls are really great. This show probably has the most potential of all the new shows I've seen this season so far.

Took me all summer and then some but I finished up Cardcaptor Sakura.
All in all, I found it to be pretty good. There was no (serious) conflict or tension but it's just not that kind of show, and the general adorableness and likeability of pretty much all of the cast makes up for it. The hand drawn art/backgrounds were always nice to look at as well. I watched the first movie and still have the second to watch, but I'll probably watch that and start Clear Card next weekend. Figure now is probably the best time as the original is still fresh in my mind. I remember seeing some episodes of the old dub back in the early 2000s when I was like 10. I'm not sure how much of it I saw but I remember being somewhat interested (however back then it was all about Pokemon/Digimon for me). Kind of funny that I'd go back like 20 years later and watch through the whole thing, doubt I would have saw that coming. ... Copied to Clipboard!

I liked the second movie a lot and I'd recommend it before your break rather than after it's basically a direct sequel to the end of the anime
