I can't believe I got so absorbed in the release of the new CoD game that I haven't watched a single episode of anime this entire weekend. So counting what airs tomorrow, I'm going to have to marathon *counts* oh god... 14 different episodes of anime.

I was just about to sit down and start my catch-up marathon, and then it hit me that I forgot to count the shows I watch on Toonami. So I actually have 16 episodes that I need to watch to be fully caught up. I think I might divide this marathon in half and watch half of them (the ones I'm watching subbed) today and the other half (the ones I'm watching in English) tomorrow rather than try to cram them all into one day.

Yeah years later the only things I really remember from it are the super speed Russian guy who was kind of cool but got killed off super fast,Russian girl MC who pulls a sniper rifle out of herself, magician guy who pulls swords and shotguns out of nowhere, and the lightsaber using woman.

I don't remember any plot details but I remember not really being too into it.

In fact I never really cared for the first season either. It's been like a decade but other than Hei and November 11 being cool and a couple of good fights I don't remember liking it all that much, and the plot completely lost me by the end.

I always see the series praised in anime topics, which is why I added it to my list. Season 1 was okay. Season 2 was...was... uh huh.

Yeah I watched it for the same reason. Lately though it seems that the series is coming up less in discussion. It's probably getting old enough that the "newer generation" of anime fans don't really know about it.

I'm 4 episodes into my 16 episode catch-up marathon now. Elaina was hilarious this week, Sigrdrifa and Climbing Girls are both taking turns for the worst, and Sleepy Princess is on track to surpass Laid-Back Camp as the comfiest anime in history.

I still have 4 more subbed episodes to watch today (Yashahime, D4DJ, Vanguard IF, Precure) and then I'll save the dubbed shows for tomorrow.

I'm now caught up on all the shows I follow subbed, and I'm definitely saving the dubbed ones for tomorrow.. Yashahime and Precure had pretty ho-hum episodes that weren't really anything special, but Vanguard IF is building up to a huge finale (F in the chat for Shuka though) and D4DJ continues to put the biggest and dumbest smile on my face every week. Bravo, Bushiroad, you brilliant fuckers.

It feels like there isn't much discussion these days of currently airing anime. These topics move so much slower than they did in the past. I wonder what the reason is.

Are people not watching much these past few seasons? Are they watching much but don't feel like talking about it? Or are we just plain losing regulars?

After watching a bunch of simuldub episodes I had missed out on, I'm now fully caught up with all of my currently airing anime. Most notably, the dub for A Certain Scientific Railgun T finally finished and it was awesome. 9/10, Railgun continues to completely outshine its parent series.

It does feel like there's less discussion overall, and I'm not exactly sure why either. I try to chime in on a currently airing anime every once in a while, but all of the ones I watch air on the weekend or Monday, so the middle of the week is a dead period for me.

I've been meaning to get into watching more seasonal anime again, but just haven't. Last one I watched as it aired was Gleipnir a few months back.

I've been wanting to start Talentless Nana and Yashahime from this season but I am now like 9 episodes behind.

I used to watch at least like five or six a season a few years back.

I haven't watched seasonal let alone backlog in a long while, so I can't contribute much in that sense unfortunately.
I do read a lot of manga but I dunno, its usually either weird or older stuff and I don't want to jaw anyone's ear off about it.

Yeah Talentless Nana is a standout this season, as expected. Sadly I don't think they're gonna get to the really spicy moments in the manga. I actually honestly wonder where they'll end because there isn't like a huge climax point. Maybe season 2+ is a possibility

Because he's actively mocking the entire fanbase of my favorite series (myself included obviously) just because we're vocal about trying to get more people to watch an underwatched show. It's not even the first unnecessary cheap shot that he's lobbed in our direction either.

that said I think he makes a pretty good point near the start about how you obviously want to wait until the season is done to write a review for something but at that point a vast number of people will just have moved on from it already and your review is sort of pointless. makes it all feel a little discouraging. I think any anime reviewing energy is probably better just channeled into little mini review/discussions directed at/with specific people you know than trying to present some big thing to the world at large

I totally agree with him on what he was saying in the video overall. His points about people moving on" to the next season of anime and about anime-only fans rating an "incomplete" story in most cases are correct. I'm just saying that the cheap shot at Symphogear fans was totally uncalled for.

Yeah his videos seem to have a decent amount of views but I wondered if he had a following prior to what he did or if the views come more from his later infamy

or did have a decent amount of views, seems the channel is gone now. Some people re-uploaded some videos though.

I've only played one Senran Kagura game (one of the 3DS ones) and I don't think it's one of the main ones that the anime's story is based on.
