Juhanor 09/21/20 6:47:21 PM #153:	Midway Chapter 5 rankings Sakura - taken a big dive, she's too damn wishy washy. Oh boo hoo, so you think ~~Yaksha~~ is ~~Sakura~~. Like she can handle imitation when everything's peachy, but the second stuff hits the fan she acts like it'd put her out to protect the people and peace? She should grow up and stop chasing after someone she isn't. 5th place. Hatsuho - Just cuz you're "family" doesn't excuse acting as she did. She's out. Claris - The tables have turned! Now I regret being too harsh on her before. I like that she actually wanted to listen to Kamiyama's troubles. And from a purely functional standpoint, her ranged attacks matches well with his close up ones. Perhaps 2nd place, but she might yet gain 1st... Azami - Although she isn't a romantic contender, I rather liked her character arc and the growth of a more sibling-like friendship between her and the Captain. And like Claris, she was the only other Division member to care about his feelings, instead of just her own. Tied for 2nd. Anastasia - Again, getting closer but still rather distant compared to the others. I enjoyed her control room event, especially since it was plainly all an ~~act~~. Or was it...? Raised to 1st place with Hatsuho's fall from grace. But as it goes along the power scaling and weirdness keeps going up and up and up. Yoruichi...Harribel...Finally my dream of vicariously living through a harem protagonist to kinda sorta romance a dark skinned Kubo girl has come true!!! Joking (<_< >_> <_<) aside, I thought it was OK. The strong points IMO were the soundtrack, the world and mech/character design. Gameplay/ending spoilers here! As a game with choice, I kinda got the sense that none of the answers really mattered; as a game of combat, the repetition made Dynasty Warriors look like Ninja Gaiden; as a game of romance, basically every scene can be seen with no conflict, and except for the end-and perhaps even then-there isn't really a concrete declaration of love. So ultimately gameplay wise, I feel like the devs didn't really know what direction to go in, and played it too safe as a result. Or maybe they had loftier goals, and had to lower the bar to get it finished? I don't know. It wasn't life-changing or mind-blowing for me but I enjoyed it for the most part, regardless. In the end, I guess I'd rather be left with a feeling "not enough" than "never again." If I read the manga first, then I would be missing out on the impact when I see it in the anime. I didn't read any of the manga and followed it fine though.
