At least, the Board 8 thats been around for a while and knows me.

So my depression is kicking my ass tonight and tonight Im locked on a thought that involves Board 8 and its something Ive thought a lot about in the past but couldnt bring myself to type out.

Im sorry I havent connected with you all more and engaged more in general. Ive known some of you for close to 20 years, but I think I can only count on two hands ( maybe a foot too) when it comes to how much Ive gamed with you all or anything like that.

No reason for it other than anxiety of growing close to people and a genuine struggle to keep up with message board based communication. For some reason Ive always had a hard time getting use to the rhythm of message boards. Its weird as hell but I dont know how else to explain it.

Frankly a lot of you are wonderful. Youre good people and you got some great taste and I want you to live good lives and be well.

When I was younger on here, I put an unhealthy amount of value in the user contests and rankings and etc. I can be honest with you now and tell you it crushed me every time I wasnt event mentioned on those things. Of course all these years later, I know that this is mostly is due to the fact that I didnt put in any effort to maintain connections with you guys and I always drifted away. That and the brain cancer shit I pulled when I was 16. You know I still get a pit in my stomach when I think about that. That never left me.

I know that this is something that was on nobodys radar and Im sure its not even a thought that has ever bothered any of you. But when I feel guilty over something I just have to vent it.

If any of you out there felt like we were really getting along and bonding while Ive been here on this board, Im sorry if my distancing hurt you. Thats all on me and Im sorry.

For what its worth, Ive been in and around gamefaqs for years in one account or another, and I know Im never going to be on anyones list of anything, so I know how it feels to not really feel a part of anything. The internet is a place where you can game or talk to people with no pressure tho, so I say give yourself a break. Anyone here who likes you wouldnt want to see you beating yourself up about it, Im sure.

You're generally a positive presence on this board and you're one of the few people that blog posts about his life that I enjoy. Your topics never get too many posts but I like reading them.

Hey man I feel the same, I have trouble connecting with people in real life much less a message board. Have never felt like I fit in or belong on board 8, yet something always kept me coming back.

Maybe cuz the people here are just really damn cool. I would say they're less crazy than other people on the internet, but it's probably that we're all similar types of crazy that get along with each other. Helps that we're all around the same age and more or less grew up together.

Anyway I have a lot of social anxiety which frequently holds me back from interacting with peeps here, and I worry too much about which words I'm using and that more often than not prevents me from posting. Even this post took me a long time to figure out how to word.

Usually I would just hit the back button without posting but not this time

Don't feel bad about it! Everybody works best at different rhythms, it's not something to get down on yourself about.

As for the faking-your-own-death thing, I dunno, in retrospect I think of it as another funny/colorful board 8 episode. It's sorta nostalgic. And you're okay and still a part of the community so it's a happy ending all around.

I feel ya man. I don't really have any connections to anyone on this board or gfaqs in general. I'm always surprised when I'm brought up or noticed lol. And I've noticed that hanging out on certain boards causes me to be much more cynical and aggressive so I've gotten to where I avoid those. B8 has always been pretty chill though, comparatively.
