Nope. I'm at a point where I value the time more than the money.

There was a time when I did so, but not now. I'm done needing to accumulate wealth that way.

It's called overtime and yes I have. But it's extremely tiring. I managed to do it for about 6 months when I was in my 20s, and for a month or so in my late 30s, and it totally wiped me out. I have worked 12+ hours overnight in one shot as recently as early April, but it usually takes me a couple days to recuperate.

I work part-time at FedEx as a QA Admin, but my boss looks down on me if I don't work as many hours as the full-time people. Problem is, I'm not getting the benefits they are so fuck that noise.

I would definitely rather work 4x12 than 5x8 and have 3 days off instead.

When I was young and saving for a family, for sure. I worked full time while going to a vocational schoool full time (80 hours between the two not including travel time). I worked many jobs that were over 50 hours a week as well.

Now I'm old, no family, no reason to save, so no, I would not, in fact, I would work less hours to the point where I can pay my bills etc and that is it. I have no reason to save up anymore, I just want to live comfortably without being a drain on society or anyone.

They really should have retirement jobs for people over 50 who just want to work like 24 hours a week (3 days, 8 hours, or 4 days 6 hours for those who have a hard time with 8 hour shifts (possibly even 6 days 4 hours for those who get tired really easy). That should pay enough to afford a place to live, food, basic entertainment (power + internet), and public transportation.

Before the outbreak, I was working 50-60 hour weeks (sometimes more) with time and a half, so if I can continue doing the same thing but get paid double, I'd take it in a heartbeat.

Even our basically job dust bowl of a town has a job for older people only. Library gift shop/maker of the patron coffee.

I'm not sure what the pay is, but considering many jobs that do exist around here are federal min wage wages are just questionable all around anyway.

Hell no. My personal time is far more important. I have a nice house in a nice town and I'm on track to retire at a decent age. More money is always nice but there's only so much I would want to do with that money and I'm happy with what I have now. No need to push to earn more at the expense of my life outside work or my family

Fuck no. I had a job where I had to work 75 hours a week, even if 60 is technically "better" there was no meaning to that life. There is no reason to live when you work 75 hours a week, I made a lot (relatively speaking) of money but there wasn't any purpose to it since I couldn't benefit from spending it as I literally slept my entire single day off each week.

No. 44 / 45 hours is more than enough.

My goal is to work less, not more. My free time is more valuable to me than money.

I already do and only get 1.5x for those hours only, so yes. At this point that would be a regular up-north day for me (twelve hours), so its not a big deal.

yes but I'd have to have better working conditions and maybe a shorter commute. also, it would have to be longer days, not more days (unless my commute was tiny, then that wouldn't matter as much).

My normal work hours per week is 40 but I average 50 hours from staying late to catch up/get ahead with work. I think I can tolerate 12 hours work days being the norm since I already stay on average from 6 AM to 5-6 PM.
