I still have some luck on them now, but I'm a bit heavier and have started balding so not as many women like me on those apps now

Honestly if you use them enough, you will probably get laid, espeically if you have low standards, but don't expect to meet your wife from one.

I live in the countryside so i hardly get any matches. But when i stayed with my brother in the city one time. There were way too many. But eventually i have to go back to my home town for work.

I guess its the same with all apps.

OKCupid -> Had about a 20% success rate getting responses from anyone, then met someone on there and we talked a bit and started dating.

She turned out to be really racist, was exploiting me to get back at her ex-boyfriend, didn't want me to pay for things because of a bad experience with her ex but then got mad if I suggested we split a dinner bill *once*, her mom called me the R-word. The last time I saw her she was trying to show me off in front of her ex's friend (who had apparently tried to rape her once), then she said she was done with me and that she was going to invite her ex's friend over (the same one who tried to rape her once) and he... tried to force himself on her again.

She messaged me several months later asking me if I could come hang out with her because she was on medications and she needed someone to watch her. I told her I didn't feel comfortable staying with her but I could hang out a little bit. She overdosed on medications a few weeks after that, apparently she had gotten pregnant and was trying to abort the child. I went with my roommate to the hospital because I didn't feel comfortable going to the city by myself at midnight. He had a girlfriend... he wound up sleeping with this girl. And then she started messaging another friend I had known for a couple years by this point through my Facebook Wall and they started hooking up so I was like "ok I'm done".

She tried to message me a couple of months after all that and suggest we remain friends and I was like "WTF are you talking about, how could you possibly believe we're going to stay in contact with each other after everything you did?" and she got pissed off at me and tried to make me feel bad.

That's the gist of it, I think there was other stuff I'm missing.

Literally not a copy-paste. It was awkward hearing her say the N-Word since she lived in Baltimore... racism is always stupid but I think it's *especially* stupid when you're living in a city with a big minority population.

The final time I saw her was awkward as shit. She invited me to her apartment to hang out, I show up, she's like "We're at the store". So I'm waiting and smoking outside and she shows up ... with my friend that she had been messaging. And then we went upstairs and her friends were there. They were actually really decent people. She and he kept messaging each other constantly and it was *really* obvious and her friends were like "wtf are you guys messaging about" and she tried to play dumb and responded with "we're not texting each other"... It just got awkward after that and I was like "Fuck it I don't need this" and I left.

I had a lot of bad dating experiences lol.

The one and only time I've actually met someone from a dating site was because she showed my profile to a bunch of people she knew. She eventually found some people who confirmed who I was and where I worked, and she just randomly started showing up while I was at work.

We became friendly anyway after she realized how shy I am. Then she straight up asks if I'm a virgin, and I admit that I am. She then proceeds to insult me and say she could never be with someone like me, that she needs a man who can please her.

Then a few weeks later, she was proclaiming that we were getting married, and having children together, while still telling me I'm not good enough for her.

Keep in mind that we aren't even dating. She's just someone who tracked me down from my pictures and knowing some of my classmates who identified me.

Was so weird, painful, and confusing. Luckily she eventually hooked up with someone else and dropped me like an iron ball.

By paying, i see who matches with me and can decide from there. Wastes less time. Unless you like swiping

When I'm single and just want to use them to hook up, I don't have a ton of luck. I live in a college town and I'm out of the general age group that uses the apps for hookups only. nothing but disappointment. i tried it pretty seriously for like 4-5 years, but it was the same tired charade most of the time. i'd find a cute female who was a high match % with many shared interests. i'd send a well thought out message that indicated i read her profile and included a question to make replies easy. 19/20 times i get no reply. then the 1/20 times i do get a reply, it would start off well but after like 4-5 messages BAM ghosted.

i only got like .... four dates out of the entire thing and only one went past the first date.

sometimes women would message me first but every single time this happened it was fat lady and i dont like fat ladies.

i just gave up and accepted that i'll spend the rest of my life with my dogs.

Then I found someone on Runescape and we hung out a lot in game and I made a ring (in-game) and proposed to her (in-game) and she said it was too much. I felt kinda crappy... but her friend was hanging out with her and I was like, "Maybe you want it?" And then we were Runescape dating for a while, but apparently it caused a rift in her relationship with the other girl and their mutual friend.

And when I was maybe 15 or 16 there was some middle-aged Southern woman I played Yahoo! Pyramid Solitaire with who talked dirty to me a few times >_>
