I don't think she looks older than them! She hasn't done enough for me to comment on her maturity level, although none of them act childish.

Okay, that was definitely Reyn's best moment of the game so far, saving Otharon in the nick of time and proving himself right that they can change the future if they work together.

Xenoblade Chapter 5 beated

Heck yeah Dunban joined the party. Some dragon thing called a Telethia saved us from Metal Face, and that dragon is working with some dude who looks like Riku. Shulk has a rather in-depth future vision where we see characters we haven't met yet and Shulk swears vengeance in the name of Fiora and the Emperor. The plot thickens!

I think there's some expanded dialogue in Palace 7 (where I am right now) but I'm not 100% sure. Think the puzzles have been a bit simplified too but they never bothered me to begin with so idk.

Ammo refilling to full for every battle + Customize now lets you add ailment chances to guns + Technical is OP af now + Tower Rank 10 = some silly stuff though.

also this was probably true in the original but i accidentally realized a bit earlier that when you get a bullet hail to start a fight (that Tower perk where you shoot a bunch at the start of a fight sometimes) you can just hold X and it autofires. Think I played OG P5 two entire times thinking it was a button mash lol.

Most team games suck. I like Rock and Roll because that's the only one where it feels like you can actively contribute to your team's victory, but it's also the one that pops up the least often for me.

Futaba's is good. Makoto's could have been better, but I liked it. I liked Ryuji's, too, actually. Ann's was the only one I'd say was bad.

Makoto's is alright. Leans a bit too heavy on the Eiko stuff. That one rank in the middle of all that where she talks about her dad is A+. wish it was more of that but whatevs.

Makoto still the best.

You just reached one of my favorite moments in the game, with possibly my favorite musical track (the track that hits when Dunban does is called "Unfinished Battle", and that's the ONLY time you hear it in the entire game).

At this point, I think it's common for many players to actually stick with Sharla because they rely on her healing, but I recommend you bench her for Shulk/Dunban/Reyn straight away. With just a little tweaking, that team can nuke nearly anything. Also, let us know if you have questions about Aurus, as they aren't really an integral part of combat until you get Dunban.

I'd also recommend you try playing as Dunban to see how you like it. I thought he was pretty fun.

Yeah, I dropped Sharla for Dunban for the fight where he joins. I might give him a whirl to see how he plays. I was looking at his Art descriptions and they talk about Auras, but I wasn't totally sure what they were about. I figured the game would give me a tutorial or two about it when the time came.

Not really. It's not a big penalty and exp scales a bit based on your level compared to the enemy. So your bench will never fall that far behind even if you never use them the entire game. I think your bench also gets full exp from things like quests and finding locations but I'm not 100% on that.

I never felt like my bench was lagging. Can't recall if there was ever more than like... a 3 level difference between Shulk (who's in my party 99% of the time) and Sharla, who's hardly ever in rotation.

Played through the opening sequence of FFX with my wife. She conceptually understands the pronunciation of tee-dus, and she didn't remember meeting Auron in KH2, even though I'm fairly sure she got far enough into the game to have done so, although I could be wrong!

She also said she doesn't really like playing turn-based RPGs because the back and forth is too slow for her.

I won't have time to play anything the next couple days, but I did get the next infodump from Dickson.

The Telethia are creatures who work with an ancient race of people most Homs assumed were mythical, and they protect the sleeping (apparently not dead) Bionis. Dickson has actually met them since he's a world traveler who seeks new knowledge to help the Homs survive. Since he's so well traveled, he joins as a temporary party member to be our guide, although I'm not sure if I want to use him since he isn't permanent.

Also, Shulk shares his elaborate vision with everyone, and Dickson thinks the towering horn he saw must be Prison Island, which is at the top of the head of the Bionis, naturally. I figured this would be way later in the game, so yeah.

I love the next area. My only advice is that you enter it in the middle of the day so that you can watch the day-to-night transition in real time.

Oh right, I don't know if the time trials were added to the DE, but I've only done one of them so far. Is it worth it? The first batch of rewards I got was pretty middling, but I imagine they get better as you go along.

Those are new, yeah. Id say its not really that worry it unless youre obsessive about costumes. You get some exclusive ones there, and later in the game you can buy some tough to find collectible and gems, but dont kill yourself trying to accumulate points, because its all completely optional.

Yeah, it felt like something that would be new content for an upgraded port. I might just wait and do them once I'm above the recommended level just so it's not too difficult.

Speaking of which, I'm around level 28 right now. I'm guessing it's fine for where I am because I'm a higher level than most of the enemies in the area.

I've also found a couple of secret areas, which is pretty cool. I haven't felt this urge to find everything since Skies of Arcadia. I also like that the game has a bunch of Achievements. It just makes me wish Nintendo had a legit trophy system.

Well, the time trials scale down your levels. I think your equipment and gems remain so you can still kinda brute force them, though.

Just about every DB arc is better than the last IMO (well, after the first few at least. The first dozen or so episodes are better than the next couple dozen).
