Eh, I'd say Miz is probably more well known than Orton. Orton doesn't really have a big outside of wrestling presence, while Miz has both the USA show and commentating one of those network Wipeout-esque shows.

I dunno, I get surprised by how many times RKOs are referenced by random people I talk to.

What a series of weird endings.

For whatever reason we needed Mike Chioda involved in the finish of Cassidy/Jericho where Mike "owed" Jericho and Jericho told him to look away while he hit Cassidy with a bat (which he hinted at doing before ultimately disarming Jericho). Cassidy won with something that looked like a Russian Leg Sweep but was somehow a pinning combination, but they must have been running long because Cassidy got like 30 seconds to celebrate.

On the flipside, Dream returns but doesn't factor into the finish of the triple threat as Cameron Grimes pins Kushida, and for some reason Dream is super pissed about this and beats up Kushida.

I'm legit confused how Dream beat his rap with WWE. His was fairly cut and dry, even if it wasn't "technically" pedophilia he literally sent nude pics to 15-16 year olds. Isn't that, by definition, illegal?

Yup. The kid said he was 16 and Dream was 20 at the time.

I can't believe the WWE would stick their neck out for the fucking Velveteen Dream. Rehab Stone Cold after he beat his wife? Sure cause its Stone Cold. But this is just a developmental guy.

There was the bat spot, then apparently a Hagar run in, then a low blow, then the awkward pin.

Just finished this, but it was fine.

If you watched the show, they had a segment earlier on where Jericho told Mike Chioda to look the other way for him because he owes him, and they wanted you to think that it was going to end like that before Chioda took it away.

Then they had a typical Inner Circle with Santana and Ortiz coming out and Best Friends attacking them for what they've been doing to them and to help their friend.

And then Hager coming in to take advantage of the distraction to hit his move. It didn't feel overbooked at all, but they cut from it way too much and it didn't really feel as special of a match as their first one, unfortunately.

Yes. Santana and Ortiz were going to cause a distraction on the ramp for Hager to get involved while they stayed up at the top of the ramp. Best Friends beat the hell out of them because they poured bleach on their clothes and ruined Sue's car. Hager snuck in while the ref wasn't looking thanks to the distraction, which was what Santana and Ortiz wanted in the first place.

Like saying someone is banned from ringside and then they involve themselves anyway in the match is WWE-lite logic. Like when they banned James Ellsworth from the women's MitB ladder match only for him to involve himself anyway.

The rule was they weren't supposed to be ringside. So when they looked like they were going to come ringside, the referee told them to GTFO. And then unknown to the referee, somebody else came into the ring to interfere without the referee seeing.

You didn't even see the full finish. Why are you even arguing this? It's heels breaking the rules. It's not even remotely similar to the Ellsworth situation.

Like with Ellsworth, they did the stipulation, banned him from the arena, but he still ran into the ring and got involved directly in front of a group of referees.

In this situation, the heels weren't ringside, distracted the ref by looking like they were, and then Hager snuck in and attacked OC while the referee couldn't see.

Ellsworth did it in front of a team of referees after being banned from ringside, nothing clever. Just running in anyway. Inner Circle had a plan to skirt that rule and still cheat and not get caught.

"The finish got wild and woolly. Jericho wanted Chioda to turn his back, so he could use Floyd the bat. Chioda acquiesced at first then changed his mind to snatch Floyd out of Jerichos hands. OC used that stalling to his advantage for a Michinoku Driver and a Superman Punch.

Thats when Santana and Ortiz brawled with Best Friends on the stage. Jake Hager swooped in for a big slam to OC. Jericho went for the pin, but OC kicked out. Jericho connected on a mule kick low blow. He wound up for Judas Effect, but OC ducked and locked in an ugly Mouse Trap pin for the upset victory.

...

Too bad the finish was an overbooked mess. The big stipulation banning outside interference was ignored, and it didnt even matter in the outcome.

A trilogy between Jericho and Cassidy has been telegraphed ever since OC dumped OJ on Jericho. This bout tonight did nothing to make me desire a rematch, let alone pay for it on PPV. Cassidy just won despite so many shenanigans."

This from someone who gave the overall show a B+.

Because they had a GM heavily involved with a personal vendetta against Ellsworth and went out of his way to punish him for interfering in what they built up as a much more impactful match. Like the whole storyline was about Ellsworth not getting involved because he literally took the first Women's MITB briefcase and handed it to Carmella. They built up Ellsworth getting punished for interfering.

This was just "Oh btw neither group can be ringside," wherein the main reason was so Inner Circle couldn't just screw with and distract or interfere for the majority of the match like they usually do.

Then why bother with the stip? Wouldn't it look more diabolical on Jericho's part to tell the IC to stay in the back, because he thinks he's got Chioda in his back pocket to win the match, and the IC being proactive when they realize that Mike isn't going to play along with Jericho? One of AEW's strengths if making it's stipulations worth a damn. It's frustrating when what should be a big win by Cassidy has all this nonsense around it. Chioda not doing Jericho's bidding, interference on the behalf of the IC, an awkward pinning combination.

The issue was that all of this was rushed at the end because they were running out of time, not that it happened.

I don't know why you want Jericho, who usually has back up plans for his back up plans, to just assume Chioda will cheat for him.

The stipulation was still worth a damn because they had to cheat to bypass it. I'm pretty done arguing this though.

Yup, finally watched it and it was an overbooked mess. Also Jericho was supposed to roll forward on the mousetrap pin but instead fell backwards.

I mean he literally gets low-blowed and recovers in seconds. Literally 3 seconds from low-blow to countering the Judas Effect.

Yes and when Cena overcomes the odds clearly the next progression in any feud with him was to then wrestle the same opponent but with no odds against him.

Like this honest to goodness feels like trolling to me. If Cena beat Wade Barrett even with interference by Nexus, no one is gonna go "oh boy I can't wait to see Barrett and Cena go one-on-one with no Nexus involvement." You're gonna say "God Barrett looks like a chump."
