If you had to move to one of these states, which would it be (and why)

I already lived in Northern Virginia and it wasn't bad except the drivers are obnoxious (but that's the DMV to begin with).

Research Triangle in NC is probably my second choice

Virginia is the only one I've been to but i remember it being beautiful. I'd like to go to Georgia next

Virginia has an area called north Virginia that is close to DC and MD. Its a liberal, diverse enclave in the rest of VA, which is decidedly very fine people and the hills have eyes territory

I chose North Carolina because it is warmer than Virginia, but Virginia was my second option.. The rest hell no would never live in the rest if I had a gun to my head.

West Virginia is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to. Lightly populated, chill people (the ones I met anyway).

Virginia kinda sucked.

Never been to the Carolinas.

Georgia is a hell hole.

Indiana was meh. Though I didn't spend enough time there to get a strong opinion of it.

I live in Charlotte NC
So, South Carolina. Right across the border for cheaper taxes XD

i live in virginia near va beach. its beautiful and the people are cool on the coast and the cost of living is acceptable. northern va is really nice and liberal but expensive from what i understand. just avoid the nc border area/south part of the state and the monutains. lotta angry down home confederate types

If I tried to catch a plane to Iowa, I'd have to buy a ticket to Illinois instead and walk the rest of the way because they don't stop there

I mean I don't know where you plan on living for these jobs but cost of living in Nova is pretty shitty and you gotta deal with shitty commuting unless you take the metro or VRE

I live in Virginia. Has its great parts and not so great parts. I love different parts of NC(Research triangle, Asheville) but some areas are God awful.(Greensboro, lot of rural areas)

I live in VA, in a section that's like 30 minutes from West VA, TN, and North Carolina. Very beautiful, lots of nature... and nothing else. If you choose VA, go on the coastal side if you can, or North VA.

You better hope you live in Hampton Roads, VA Beach or be willing to drive to the beach somewhere from NoVA or another major city. The state is only blue because of population spikes in the more urban areas. There are still plenty of back roads and really, really small towns where you can faintly hear "Dueling Banjos" in the background and see Confederate flags and people flexing their "TRUMP 2020 MAGA" chops

Trust me, of the list, yeah. I'd rather not live in any. Much happier in New England and would happily stay with just New England.

I just got back from a vacation to Asheville a couple days ago. My wife and I love the city so much. We'd move there if there were more than just service industry jobs there. No IT jobs to speak of so I'm sol.

based on what I know about north Carolina it seems like it has the potential to be a top tier state but the racism and politicians who came to power through gerrymandering is terrifying. If voters can flip the state on some key issues it might be a good pick long-term.

Richmond, Virginia would be pretty cool, I had relatives who lived there and they really liked it.
