When did people stop using geocities? Im not surprised some people haven't heard of it but I thought they'd be a bit younger

I'd say it was before that. I mean, I remember lycos and angelfire surpassing geocities as the "cool" hosting site and that was like 2001.

Wikipedia says it was the 3rd most visited internet site in '99. They really did host almost everything for a little while there.

I used a site called HTMLGoodies to teach myself HTML so I could make a kick ass site. My angelfire.lycos site was pretty dope. Of course it looks like shit in a modern browser, probably because I fixed all the border-less tables at a specific width and length.

There's a new geocities that's been around for a while: https://www.geocities.ws/

I used it for my shitty-ass game I made about ten years ago: http://www.geocities.ws/gamestew/

Nowadays I'd just use itch.io for hosting games.
