Yes because they prevent you from expelling your droplets into the air. And N95 masks do indeed help to filter out the virus (and I have a couple of them).

My work mandates it for all employees, and has since April. WA mandates it for the state now, though I've worn one when grocery shopping; yet it doesn't stop the occasional ass-hat customer from coming in without a mask, or eastern WA being full of people who still think that Covid is fake (guess where our spiked numbers are) or that heckling the governor is the way to go with anything. Yes, I wear my damned mask, and I wash my masks every week. We all should have back when the news of the virus first reached this country, honestly.

At work, yes, since I talk to Customers and pass coworkers in the halls.

When shopping, yes, since I'm passing people and talking to the cashier.

When refilling gas, no, since it's just me at the pump.

When running, no, since I'm not close to anyone, and those who I do get close to, I make a big arc around and past them.

When at home, no.

When I'm in my car, no.

When I'm picking up food, yes.

My state's legally required them since this March, so yes.

They're absolutely pointless in my case, though. They don't protect ME in any way, and I stay in quarantine enough that I'm not a transmission vector, so it's not protecting anyone else from me, either.

I'll happily continue to wear mine so long as it means all the other plague-sacks keep theirs on, though. Seriously, fuck the rest of you walking petri dishes.

No. Partly because they're impossible to get a hold of in my town and the fact that I don't really go out much or meet people anyway.
And when I have to go to the store and buy groceries, I always go very early in the morning(usually just as they open) before everybody else gets there.

The only time I dont is when going through a drive through.

No reason for it, tbh I just kinda forget to do it everytime, then I see the mask on the worker and remember lol. I could do better. I dont use drive through often so I don't think.

I'm a delivery guy so my exposure is decently high. I'm the only employee who wears a mask, at all.

Most of the people here are legitimate morons. They can't do even simple math. Still haven't met a coworker who can figure out 15% without a calculator (so fucking easy I can't help but view these people as mentally deficient). So I dont really expect much.

Kinda rude. I know many smart people who just have trouble with math. And while I can find out 15% calculator (though I will usually write it down in most cases because I have a habit of showing my work), I would probably rather use a calculator just to make sure I didn't make mistakes. No real reason not to use them. Especially if you're going for exact numbers. It's much quicker that flexing by showing you can do it without a calculator...

Sure, its kind of rude. Its also easy as hell to learn. People simply don't want to. Im no mathematician but I simply can't help but know that its $1.50 per $10 and $.75 for every 5. Simple. I learned it once when I was a teen so I could be a decent human being and never forgot. I will literally teach people how to do it. Ill tell them 1.50 per 10 and they don't listen. Because they dont want to know. Just slack jawed stares and a change of subject. You'd think people would want to know. But they don't.

Idc if its exact, no one in the service industry does. You're mad about pennies at that point.

I'm done making excuses for people who refuse to be anything but ignorant. If you still can't do 15% rounded up/down after having the simplest explanation, you are mentally deficient or willfully ignorant. Theres not much difference adding 1 + 1 and 1.5 + 1.5. Its very easy to add up 1.50 values. Or .75. We learn this in grade school ffs.

But in this age of technology, whats the benefit of doing it in tour head as opposed to on the phone. Sure, we could flex on other and brag about being awesome at math, but that make you look like a douche in front of others. Im not gonna call someone stupid just because they have a hard time with a subject. Ive known many smart people who were great and every subject, but still had a hard time with math. Everyone has that subject thats just a little harder than the other for them (even if theyre still good at it). I also dont see how learning math makes you a decent human being. Especially with how youre acting now, tbh... And the thing is, they really dont have to learn. And why sit there and try to do the math when they could just use theyre phone. If they arent good at math, they could still end up getting the amount wrong, even if they try. So, they use their phones to make sure its right.

And it doesnt have to be exact, but maybe theyd rather get it exact and round. I dont know what they want. Not a mind reader...

Sure. Whatever. And not trying to being mean, but I definitely dont really think youre a decent human being like you claim if youre just this mean because youre smarter than others...

Always if I'm out in public. If I'm with friends or family, I just trust that they're being reasonably safe because I feel it's kinda ridiculous to wear one or expect everyone to wear one when just hanging at the house with them. Plus, in close constant proximity like that, you'd probably be bound to transmit it anyway

Yes, because its become mandatory to do so. I was already doing so even before it became a law around here.

Also, i've gotten quite used to wearing one already it doesn't seem to matter if it's mandatory or not; in fact i enjoy wearing one that i have quite a few of them and I think they can be quite fashionable with the clothes I happen to be wearing.
