Pop music by design is supposed to be easily popular/consumed.

This is basically the natural conclusion.

Think of the WarioWare games, which mocksidea. People will always flock to cheap, mindless, shallow, mass-produced, easily disposable media, and will empower the corporate executives to force creators to continuing pandering to them.

WarioWare of course does it with simplistic minigames instead of music, but it's the same exact principle.

Pop music has never not been mass produced garbage. What you see in the industry now is exactly what the industry has been doing for as long as there has been an industry, just evolving according to the technological capabilities of the era. If you're building a business around something, predictability and reproducibility are vital to being able to turn a reliable profit, and the process of hunting for talented artists and hoping that the public likes them is neither predictable nor reproducible.

Basically, you're asking if the pop music industry will ever change how it does business such that it makes money less reliably, and the answer is very obviously no because that's a terrible way to do business. Fortunately, it's easier than ever for people to produce and release their own music without needing to go through an industry middleman, and while that does mean you've got a lot of independent crap to sift through before finding something good, there's still plenty out there worth listening to if you're willing to look. You just won't be able to rely on the industry feeding it to you.

Not at all, I actually appreciate many artists I don't particularly care for, including from pop, just nothing since boy bands came around and turned it into only catchy beats and pretty faces and 0 substance. I appreciate the greats such as prince and Jackson, I even like a few songs, but they still cared about the music even if image was a big part too.

I would embrace a new direction of pop where artists actually write their own stuff again, and yea I know some still do, some of the time, but it should be a genuine artform not a corporate algorithm beat and a pretty face to sell it.

You don't like it? So what. I work with a dude who one night changed the radio to gospel at work and said "Well at least you can tell they are playing actual instruments!" who gives a fuck? If I picked up a guitar, I've never even played guitar hero, and recorded myself messing around on it would you play that on a loop? Garbage is garbage regardless of it if it's "real" or "manufactured".

Used to work with a real hipster who talked trash about all the "popular music" I'd make fun of him and tell him "Your main consideration when deciding what to like is how many people you think appreciate it" he would always say "No I just listen to good music" Dude listened to that Die Antwood band which is trash, porta potty clown stuff https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hT7x1NvGf5k and literally had the entire barbie girl album by aqua on his phone.

People who get upset about pop music really need to get over themselves, you're never going to like everything stop worrying about what other people like.

What other people like has an impact on me, I wish I could go to a store without hearing garbage, or on commercials, it would also be nice to see talented artists that actually care about music make it big again, idc if people like Taylor swift but I don't want to hear her everywhere
