So you guys playing Origami King, how is it so far, particularly compared to previous games in the series?

On the final quest of the main Stormblood MSQ.

I can see where some of the complaints about the narrative being a bit uneven are coming from. For a story built on the premise of liberating Ala Mhigo, there's arguably more focus on freeing Doma than anything else. The Steppes was a little too padded out, especially that ridiculous Magnai section. Once you're back to focusing on Ala Mhigo, you're suddenly a few steps away from the final showdown with Zenos.

Zenos has been charming as a villain at least.

Its enjoyable. I didnt play Color Splash so dont have a direct comparison there. Its not as good as original PM or TTYD, but its miles better than Sticker Star. Im not super far in so I dont know if the combat will hit a point where it feels tedious, especially given the minor rewards, but at least coins are useful, so there is at least some incentive to fight and keep your purse full.

Okay, so I finished the final Agatha Christie Hercule Poirot novel yesterday. I didn't read all of them, although I read most of them. If you're into good whodunnit mysteries like Umineko (which draws heavily from "And Then There Were None") or Higurashi, I'll list the books into tiers:

Top Tier (Highly Recommend)
The Mysterious Affair at Styles (the very first one, so it's almost a necessity, but it's really good, too, keeps you on your toes until the end)
The Murder of Roger Ackroyd (My absolute favorite, the solution blew my mind)
Lord Edgware Dies (the closest we get to the killer getting away with it)
Murder on the Orient Express (it's been adapted into film several times for a reason, it's almost the quintessential whodunnit Agatha Christie book)
The ABC Murders (Another classic for a reason, so much misdirection)
Appointment with Death (one of the most despicable murder victims in all the books, which adds to the appeal)
Death on the Nile (Kept me guessing until the very end)
Curtain: Poirot's Last Case (The killer here reminded me so much of the Mastermind from Ace Attorney Investigations 2)

also if you want some non-Poirot Agatha Christie books, "And Then There Were None" is an absolute classic, of course, but I'd also recommend "Crooked House" and "Endless Night"

Thanks to the power of x3 speed, for the first time in my life I got a Gold Chocobo and Knights of the Round in FF7.

Was doing this run and try to figure out how they could fit everything in the remake.

5:20 to finish Midgar.
22:10 to finish disc 1. I did Limit grinding and a couple of runs in Fort Condor though. I do think they could fit all of the main story path in part 2.
32:30 to finish the Huge Materia quests. Did a lot of Chocobo grinding, Gold Saucer (about 1.5 hours in the broken Battle Arena), and finishing up limits for everyone.

Man, status ailments are really good in Persona 5 Royal now. They also changed how Sun's Social Link works in negotiation so that the "repeatedly ask for more" and "ask for a lot" perks stack so it's even more broken than before. ...Also no longer a case where it was actually nerfed on rank up because the repeated asks was more profitable than the big ask. >_>

The Smash league made me play a good amount of Ultimate again, trying to obtain all spirits.

This is apparently a longer process than I thought because a bunch of them needs to be summoned and many others can only be found in the shop (or if you're lucky classic mode). This means grinding SP, which isn't as fun as just battling spirits. But I'm fairly positive I have everything you can get through battles.

But yeah, for an example of how the Sun Confidant Perks have been buffed up to comedy levels.

I'm in Kaneshiro's Palace. I get into battle with a red shadow type. Get it into Hold Up and the ask for money option is highlighted red because the Rank 3 "Ask for a lot" bonus triggers. Shadow gives 18,000! In vanilla P5 the battle would auto-end here because taking the ask big option would auto-end the fight. In Royal though you get the Rank 2 perk of either accepting it (and ending the fight) or demanding more. Successfully demand more twice so there's another 36,000. And then you can always take the third option of initiating the all-out attack to end negotiations (and get the EXP/money rewards for defeating the shadow in combat rather than winning by negotation) so I do that and get another 6,000.

I finished the 9th Baccano light novel just now. I think the next one is the last novel set during the Prohibition era, so it should be interesting to see how they wrap it all up. They've definitely set a lot of things in motion that I'm curious to see how they end.
