Pretty sure I did to, though actually the part that got me the most in the anime is when Eruruu/Aruruu learn about their village's destruction.

Downton Abbey Season 2 Episode 4 complete!

Well, they took me for a ride that episode, but it turned out all right in the end, at least for now.

All righty, I got some sleep so I can put some thoughts together with some coherence.

Utawarerumono thoughts: Pretty fun game and wow did things go places towards the end. The scenes and happening after defeating Kuuya were a rollercoaster. I also really, really liked how all the Final Strikes and Co-Op Attacks had the dialogue and animation changed for the final battle to show the characters visibly sad and hesitant since they were fighting Hakuowlo. Camyu's was especially sad. The Eruruu/Aruruu one too, even though it's just a healing tech! Pretty good cast of characters though some were extraneous IMO like the archers and probably Kurou. One thing about the epilogue though Oboro such a jerk. Hakuowlo's dying wish was basically "take over Tuskur for me and lead the world to a new era."followed by a smash cut to Oboro deciding to just leave with Hakuowlo/Yuzuha's baby. Benawi would be the better ruler anyway so maybe it's all for the best but lol Oboro.

Not 100% clear on a few things and I don't know if later games address these, I was just dumb and missed it, or it was left intentionally ambiguous but My current assumption on the timeline is that Archaeologist!Hakuowlo found the "being" that I'll just call Uitsualnemetia. He made his pact with it after getting shot and got the mask. Then something happened to the Earth to drive humanity underground while Hakuowlo got entombed in ice (thought just occurred to be this could have been Uitsualnemetia being an asshole and interpreting "I want to sleep" by fossilizing him by causing a massive ice age and ruining the world rather than something more mundane like climate change, nuclear winter, or a meteor impact.) Anyway, humanity found Hakuowlo at some point, calling him Iceman and created the Decoys from him. Then the whole Mikoto stuff happened and Uitsualnemetia went ham, transformed a handful of the scientists into flesh blobs until Mutsumi tried to nuke him with a satellite on his request before settling on sealing him. I imagine Kuuya's tribe descended from whatever Decoys remained in the labs and eventually called humanity Onvitaikayan and actually had most of the details right, though heavily mythologized while those on the surface became everyone else.

Also as to a previous confusion I had, I guess Eruruu is just an ace liar and Aruruu really did almost die back during the invasion but Hakuowlo's power activated and he saved her again. ...And Mukkuru because again he totally took the brunt of that attack even if no one cared to mention him =(.

From what I remember I think you've pretty much got the timeline right. Though I don't think exactly understanding the details is critical in any case.

Also something worth mentioning is that I think the first game was originally intended as a standalone game, which I bring up to say that everything needed to understand the backstory of the first game should exist within the first game. The later games are technically sequels, but will mostly address a new story rather than plot points from the first game--think Trails in the Sky vs. Trails of Cold Steel. (However Mask of Truth is a direct sequel to Mask of Deception, more analogous to say Cold Steel 1-->Cold Steel 2)

I never cared much about Kurou or Oboro. (Or the archers but lol.) My clear favorites from the first game are Hakuowlo/Eruruu/Aruruu/Benawi, but other than the ones I just mentioned I think I like pretty much everyone.

Loewe is one of the Ouroboros members in Trails in the Sky SC. If you need a more detailed answer I can give it but there would be Trails in the Sky spoilers.

Cold Steel 2 Divertissment beated. I liked Lloyd and Rixia immediately. Robbie Daymond doing work. I still don't like Altina and I feel bad for Rean. It's not a good mood right now.

yeah the Crossbell gang is pretty good, at least from the experience I've had with them so far

unfortunately I was beyond ready to be done with CS2 by the end of all that so it was hard for me to totally enjoy it, but the fight was an unexpected surprise

Cold Steel 2. Well that epilogue was shorter than expected. The split is pretty forced imhotbqh. Jusis will probably be pretty busy, and Millium can get other orders, but the rest I don't buy. Why right now? Why the change of heart? Why can't wait until graduation?

Unless the idea is that if we can't ALL be together when we should ALL be doing our own thing. I was kinda hoping there'd be a flashback where they sit down and talk about thism but nope.

During the first ending, as it shows all the character cgs from their backstories and stuff, there was one with Emma running from Vita and carrying Celine. I don't think I ever saw that in game. A couple more I think I also saw for the first time during that ending but that one stood out. Was there a cutscene somewhere?

They added graphics for a few characters just to make sure everyone got shown. Jusis, Gaius, Laura and Millium got new ones too.

CS2: I'd expand the "reasonable reasons to leave" to Alisa, Fie, and Emma as well. They all at least have plausibly more important things to do between trying to fix Reinford, figure out wtf Xeno and Leo meant, and find Vita. Gaius and Laura have pretty weak excuses and Machias and Elliot are just silly

I mean they already went for that with Subspace Emissary! Doing something different is fine with this, and I enjoy the creativity of the Spirit Battles.

Yeah but subspace also made the mistake of being almost all original locations and enemies.
I need subspace + melee adventure mode locations + 3DS smash run enemies.

The references the spirits make are pretty cool when you get them though, and it does show that someone is really paying attention to these series when they do it cause it can be pretty obscure!

Yeah, the amount of detail and thought put in some of these fights is ridiculously impressive, which is why I'm okay with them doing it the way they did.

I have reached Stormblood in FFXIV. The battle music is incredible for the new regions. Kugane is a work of art.

Story-wise...think Heavensward had a stronger beginning.

I think the general consensus is that Heavensward has a better story than Stormblood. Stormblood does, however, have both my favorite set of 8 man and 24 man raids, though!

Stormblood is fine, but yeah its a step down from Heavenswards. Its a weird mix because the Gyr Albana story is quite good, but the areas there kinda suck. While the Kugane areas are incredible, but the story is mediocre.
