is michiru the dumbest protagonist of any trigger series

10 episodes in and she still has great lines like "Anyone who fights the cops is a terrorist."

very timely

Oh I like her but she's dumb as shit.

Like it is shocking how on point Nazuna is with shit talking her, it's frustrating when she's actually right about stuff because she's always making baseless assumptions and is totally in the wrong on the surface.

Oh, and I guess I never followed up since I immediately watched Tokyo Sinks after finishing, but in the end I enjoyed BNA casually and like the designs and visuals a lot, but it's difficult to actually call it great. Lots of iffiness towards the end after a real fun first half. Would still like a season 2, but it doesn't touch a candle to Gridman for post KLK Trigger shows.

Nazuna's even dumber than Michiru

I wonder if the series writer is some sort of mysogynist?

I like Michiru but I did get annoyed with her at some points even later on, and I actually liked Nazuna's arc to the end.

I said it here already at some point but BNA is an unfortunate case of not living up to its potential and I guess a classic Trigger show through and through, main plot is not great and the world building needs way more but the animation is cool and there's fun antics to be had. Baseball episode was one of my favorites because it had literally nothing to do with the main plot of the show. I'm curious if getting like 16-18 episodes or so instead of 12 would have helped it a bit.

It still annoys the hell out of me that people don't just stay in beast form when there are zero downsides to it. They give no reasons for why you shouldn't just be in beast form, so I don't get why there aren't at least a younger generation of beast people in the city who are rebels and stay in beast form most of the time even if the older citizens abide by it for the sole reasoning of tradition of only being in it to show dominance I guess??? Which I don't believe is a good enough reason.

Which brings me to Shirou. Honestly a pretty weak deuteragonist, he was the most interesting in his introduction with the crying and such and then basically just became a generic badass loner and that didn't really change much. And for someone who's personality is 75% made up of "I hate humans".....why wouldn't HE at least want to stay in beast form most of the time to make a statement on how much he hates them? That part I REALLY don't get.

Goodbye haikyuu.

What an interesting time for Jump, 3 of it's heavy hitters gone in two months, plus the two longrunning romcoms (WNL not for another few months but still)

Thia decade is probably gonna see the end of One Piece too. I wonder if MHA is gonna be able to outlive it. It would probably need to get to 60 volumes at least.

Act-Age (need to get to this)
Stone

Clover

I think Ghostwriter could get big.

Don't know about Mashle, haven't heard much feedback.

WNL should last until the end of the year, there are still 2 arcs to go with about 10 chapters each.

Still not sure of the exact format for Burn the Witch, if it's a weekly I assume that will hit big.
I think Ghostwriter opened a little too slowly and might suffer for it, and honestly its still not super compelling to read.

Mission: Yozakura Family is lighthearted spy stuff, and its nearing the 1 year mark so it might be safe. Its not really an action series but I dont think any of the new series from the last year really fit that mold.

Undead Unluck had a really shaky first chapter, but seems to have steered away from the worst parts of it and has been good recently.

Anyway, BNA finished. I did not like the last three episodes at all. I thought they were very bad in almost every way. I enjoyed most of the series - it was good when it was more episodic and everyone was just having fun (with some dark and serious parts). The plot they brought in later on was just bad. I didn't like anything that happened with Alan. The beastmen in general seemed a lot dumber than they should've. All the stuff with that syndrome later on was silly and the show would've been better off without it. Personally, this is by far the worst Trigger show, and the only one I'd say I dislike.

Spy x Family isn't in weekly so it doesn't compete as hard with Yozakura. Also the second volume sales have been pretty decent. I think it still needs to pull a reborn! and go full battle shonen eventually if it really wants to last but maybe that's just me.

Watched Gabriel Dropout at the recommendation of a friend.

It was a fine show I guess. It felt like it was losing steam at the end a bit, but it never got to the point that I wasn't enjoying it. I think the concept was probably better than the execution here, but it was a nice show with fun characters regardless. Satania bullying is good stuff.

There's some implications that Hamaon is fundamentally the same kind of power as Stands, though far weaker/less manifested. But aside from that, the connection there is basically entirely Dio - The plot threads with the stone mask (Aside from Dio being a vampire) and pillar men are entirely closed at the end of part 2. Dio is the villain again in Part 3. An illiegtimate son of his is the protagonist of part 5. A confidant/follower of his is the villain in part 6. Part 4 doesn't have a big, direct connection, though it does have a few minor ones. And part 7 reboots the series into an alternate timeline where Stands are essentially a thing from the start
