I fully enjoyed it but I can see it being too repetitive. I can't say I liked it more than part 1 and 2, though it has its owm highlights.

I hear it gets better though! Like a lot better even, particularly for people of our tastes I assume (ie those wanting a deeper serialized experience)

Nope. Just some implications that they're connected/related. And literally all of those are in part 3, with not even a mention of the power beyond that iirc.

Part 7 has a similar-but-not-quite-the-same power that's also heavily implicated to be related to Stands, but that's also different.

I'm still not convinced he is dead. dude has a hydra fruit so cutting off his head might not work? It's One Piece so you never know.

So I've gotten back to reading the Tower of God webcomic.

It may have taken 400 chapters of buildup to get there but I really like this final arc of season 2.

Not sure how many people currently reading this topic are interested in visual novels or in yuri, but for anyone who shares both interests I recently read both Highway Blossoms and A Summer's End - Hong Kong 1986. Both I'd say were pretty good, and while not perfect were well worth the money I spent on them.

Highway Blossoms is just a sweet romance and I love the main character and I love their relationship.

A Summer's End is somewhat interesting because the relationship itself feels slightly underdeveloped/rushed, but it's more than made up for by the setting as well as the two characters as individuals being really well realized. The main character in particular had a character arc that at least resonated with me a lot. I also liked this one because it wasn't really a fairy tale romance--it was more about two people meeting within the restrictions imposed by society and their pre-existing lives and trying to make it work anyways.

Finally am totally caught up on the Tower of God comic.

The most recent content is definitely the best that the series has had so far. There was a long stretch of "meh" in the middle of the series, but I finally feel like the series is turning into something great now. The most important change is probably the introduction of Jahad as an active presence in the story, which means that I now have a sense for where the story is actually going in a big-picture sense. It also ceertainly doesn't hurt that the stakes are way higher than anything we've seen previously.

Another great thing thing is that Bam is finally pulling his weight as a protagonist, and he's probably one of my top characters at this point. Tons of other characters that seemed dull at first have also turned out to be pretty great, most notably Karaka

Really excited to see where this goes from here, though it's going to be painful reverting to one chapter a week. Might have to wait for a stockpile of chapters to come and then marathon them in chunks.

I've been watching Sakura Quest lately and despite what the first episode would have had me believe this show is really good.

Characters are great, and it's had some solid explorations on the themes of passion and pursuing your dreams without coming across as thoughtlessly excited and optimistic like a lot of anime would. (I'm thinking of something like Pet Girl of Sakurasou here)

Oda has been picking up the pace since Wano and also leaving out scenes in the manga so the anime can instead feature them. If they actually defeat everyone who's currently in Wano that'll won't leave a ton of people left

mainly just Blackbeard, the marines and the leader of the celestial dragons. Dunno what they do with Shanks.

I fully expect chapter 1000 to be some massive reveal that will affect the rest of the series.

After Wano we probably still have Elbaf, Laugh Tale and Final War

Finished watching Sakura Quest.

Absolutely fantastic slice of life show. Possibly my new favorite in the genre, though if it comes down to it I probably still go with Aria? But anyways, it's got a really well-rounded cast, with all of the major characters and many of the minor ones being entertaining while having distinct and well realized personalities and worldviews. It also feels like basically all of them go through some degree of meaningful change by the end of the series, and it's just great to watch. It's hard for me to pick a standout which really only speaks to how much I like all of them, but I guess my favorites were probably Yoshino and Maki.

I also like that despite how different the setting of rural Japan is to anything I've experienced, the show is framed in a way that the struggles of the main characters feels relatable, and it's really uplifting when their efforts actually manage to change the town for the better. It's just a great feel-good show. There's a lot more I could talk about, but really what it amounts to is just that I loved it nearly from start to finish. If I were to complain about anything, I wasn't super big on the arc about the mountain village in the middle of the series, but even then the way it ended did some amount to redeem the earlier parts of the arc I didn't like as much, and it was only like 3 or so episodes long in any case.

NHK reported on Saturday that act-age story creator Tatsuya Matsuki (29) was arrested on suspicion of committing an indecent act with a female middle school student.

NHK reported that according to police, the girl was walking in the Nakano ward of Tokyo on June 18 at 8:00 p.m. when the suspect approached the girl from behind and touched her inappropriately. Afterward, the suspect fled the scene. The girl went to police, who analyzed security camera footage to investigate. Police discovered through security footage that about an hour later, a similar incident on a nearby road with a different female middle school student occurred, involving a suspect who resembled Matsuki.

According to police, Matsuki told police "there's generally nothing incorrect" with their accusations.
