I mean, for a live premiere, it was a shitshow.

And you're kinda right that it was really unbalanced in favor of the comp beast guys (not necessarily that they'd win over Kevin/Ian, which they didn't, but that they had better odds of being in the more physical round two.) Both sets of women had to navigate their mazes to the very bottom rooms (when the board didn't have a bottom wall), while the guys just had to get to a middle room with a wall stopping the ball from falling off the board.

I may also be bitter that one of only two players I didn't want to see win HoH in week 1...won HoH in week 1.

Yeah sadly that was a bit unfair. The men were allowed to f*** up a bit more than the women. Regardless Cody destroyed the HoH so I'm not even sure if anyone would catch up to him.

I'd just like to say I'm actually very pleased at this cast.

I was expecting just a bunch of lame-o's from the more recent seasons, but I'm pleasantly surprised at seeing members from as far as 14 years ago.

So Big Brother 9 and Big Brother 15 have no members representing it, and I'm perfectly okay with that. Those two seasons were horrible and disgusting (how was that Amanda/Chelsia/Joshuah scene allowed to be aired?).

I like how there's pretty much all the weaker links from the most dominating BB alliances (Enzo from Brigade, Memphis from Renegades, Cody from Hitmen etc.) It will be interesting to see how all of them play without their crutch, but I think all of them are capable of greatness.

Thinking about this cast I'm gonna pick a winner right now and it's gonna be Kevin. He was able to maneuver his way through 11 very well. It was a very intense season and he remained calm during all of it. Had he won the tiebreaker he was for sure the winner of the season. But while he played an amazing game, he will probably pose no threat at all. The big threats this season are obviously the two winners, Janelle, Tyler, and maybe the lessers of the aforementioned alliances. I think he's got a very good chance to use all of them as shields while remaining calm and going very far.

My friend thinks Nicole A. will go far if not win it all and I agree with him too. She just can't make a fatal mistake like she did last season, but she's super likable and won't pose a threat IMO.

I really want Kaysar to actually make jury this time, but as we saw in Winners at War, the Old Schoolers got bodied. I really hope that's not the case here. I want some of these new schoolers out immediately. Da'Vonne really didn't need a third season IMO and Bayleigh was only noteworthy for getting knocked up by Swaggy C. Oh and Christmas broke a leg. It'll be nice to see David play the game but truthfully there's so many better male contestants than him. But why would I complain so much, we have a f***ing All Stars season of Big Brother, let alone a Big Brother season at all amidst everything going on at this time.

I actually don't expect any showmances this season because it seems like a good chunk of the cast is married or in very serious relationships.

Truth be told, showmances do make the show what it is, but I doubt a lack of them will ruin this season.

I'm expecting greatness here.

I expect Ian to be gone very early, maybe even the first boot. He's already doing a horrible job of reducing the huge target he had going in.

I think Nicole A and Kevin are both solid winner picks, but I'm gonna hold off a bit on making a pick.

I agree that Da'Vonne really didn't need to be in a third time, or at the very least, either her or Nicole F could have been dropped for like, Bridgette.

As far as the cast goes, it's actually not THAT bad. Sure, there are some bigger names missing, but MOST of this cast feel like they deserve to be part of an All-Stars season, either because of how well they did the first time around, their legacy, or just a sense of seeing how they'd do a second time.

The only person I think probably shouldn't be in this cast based solely on their existing legacy...is Bayleigh.

People like Kaysar/Da'Vonne, even with their double early boots, are at least two-time players and have a multi-season legacy. And David got royally fucked last season and at least deserves a second chance to actually play the game. Bayleigh's the odd one out to me.

I guess I kinda agree with this, based on my knowledge of 1-17.

The feeling I'm getting based on 18/19/22 is that when it comes to returnee casting, BB prioritizes good (or at least interesting) players over big personalities, while Survivor is about 50/50 (though lately leaning a bit toward gameplay, especially in regards to women) and as for TAR, Phil has outright said that they prioritize big characters over strong racers when casting returnee seasons.

With that in mind, this seems like a solid cast and everyone seems to have something to prove, whether it's that they can do better, or repeat their success.

Yeah, as someone who only tangentially follows BB, I recognize everyone on this cast except Bayleigh and Keesha, so I think they did a reasonable job, even if as Inviso said, there are a few omissions I would have liked to see.

While I'm bummed Dan and Derrick didn't return I'm really happy with the cast variety here and I really like how there's a lot of underrated players/ones that got screwed over. Like maybe Da'vonne and Kaysar can actually do something this time around, even if I'm not exactly thrilled with their return.

Oh yeah, I thought Julie did a real bad job hosting that first episode. She's constantly pestering the house guests to do what she wants when they are doing pretty much exactly what you would expect them to do in the situation BB has created, which speaks to really poor planning, and her questions to them were all really awkward. Her jokes were even worse.... and she follows everything up with "just kidding"
