I finished BB16 today! This was a likable season but I do have to say that it got boring at times just because it became very evident that not only was Derrick going to win (which I was spoiled on) he was also going to go preeeetty much uncontested (which I was not spoiled on). I wish that Derrick could play again to see if he is consistently good because when it comes to my own personal winner rankings I have a hard time figuring out to put him first or third. Because of the consistency of Dan and Will I think it makes more sense how the are better, with me thinking Will edges out Dan by being eligible to be evicted the entire game PLUS Dan, in my opinion, overplayed and that is what caused him to lose BB14. Derrick overcomes more obsticales and more twists. IS that more or less impressive? I'm leaning less because twists can often make a larger group stick together and my favorite part about Will is, when you're on the block, you have to convince others that it is better for you to stay and I think that is more impressive than leading from ahead.

That being said, Derrick is the least likeable of the 3, he's just boring and while I relate to him as a dad he just kind of came off as inauthentic to me watching and like I said boring. Though, I do find it funny that his win happens just months after Tony because Cody and Woo basically make the same mistake.

This cast was one of my favorite overall casts I don't really think there was a true dud in the bunch. They even found ways to make Victoria entertaining. That being said I copped out on who my favorite is. One of the two is Donny because how can you not like Donny. I'm a fan of the good ol' boy on these shows but also I'm not sure if there is a single genuiley sweet person on reality TV. Maybe it was the edit? Speaking of the edit, I was told by others that coming in I would not like Frankie and perhaps it was his edit or perhaps it was because I set an extremely low bar for him but I came out loving Frankine and if nothing else his overcoming my expecations has me tying him with Donny for my favorite. I know people compared him to Tommy but Tommy felt much more of a screen whore than Frankie did in my opinion. Maybe it has more a negative connotation cause BB21 was so ugly but I'm not so sure.

I'm moving on to BB17 soon, and we'll see where we're. Knowing what I know now, I wanna rewatch at least BB18 after that cause 18 was my first season and I want to watch it with my new knowledge.

On my rankings, I moved Drew down on both, he played a good floater game and I related to him but as I look at his name it makes me feel less than others on this list. Also, I moved BB3 up a spot over 6. Both seasons are lower than people expect but I just didn't like the casts. At least in the season above them I had people to root for.

I just finished BB17. I can say without a shadow of a doubt if Vanessa gets there and wins, it would be a big 4 for best players. That being said, Vanessa as a character drove me nuts the way she acted, while one purpose, drove me insane. I'm not a fan of the playing the victim, and the emotionally play. I think Jason said it best in the finale that if she owned it a little more I think it would have helped. But her play was so effective, I have so much respect for her play, just not my personal favorite style to watch.

Steve as a winner feels like if Sabrina voted out Kim to get a final 2 in One World. He played a good game in his own right but it is just overshadowed. I found his game clever and definetly more of a meatshield strategy which is very effective. Also, his jury performance I found really good as well. I like Steve as a character I found him endearing.

For my favorite character I had a problem, I knew Austin already for his current wrestling character, Luchasaurus. So I spent most of the time rooting for that side of the house. Only was it when I recently listened to the "Johnny Mac and Steve are losers" speech did I realize, yeaaah those are the bad guys (Austin/Twins). That being said, I didn't pick Austin because it felt similar to a returning player amongst new players because I had such a background with Austin. So I'm going with Johnny Mac. He annoys me when he's overdoing it and his laugh. But every other time I thought he was great. Also, I have to note that I loved every second of Day we got but I couldn't pick her because it was so short lived. It is a no wonder that they brought her back so soon.

With that, I have now seen all 21 seasons of Big Brother just in time for season 22. I think I'm going to do a sprint of BB18 back to where my Big Brother watching began and then probably call it a day. And if you made it through this wall of text thank you very much.

I only included contestants as far back as 21, with a particular focus on 35-39, and did not include anyone who was already on the ballot for 31 and missed. Also, when I went through 21-39 and made a list of men and women, I ended up with an even 40, but had one extra woman and needed one more man. The woman I removed was Alina, and the man I added was Vince.

You know, in hindsight, I think I would have rather seen Brett than Tyler if we had to get one.

At least Brett has the POTENTIAL to be interesting because he is a shit-stirrer, even if I loathed him the first time around. Tyler I don't see being anything other than a level-headed challenge dominator. To put it in terms of Survivor archetypes, Brett is the Trickster (Fairplay, Tyson, etc) type and Tyler is the Amazing Ace (Ozzy, Malcolm, Joe A, etc) archetype that rarely offers anything new the second time around.

Apparently even Julie doesn't know the full official cast yet. They flew in more than 16 people and several of them tested positive during the quarantine period, including ones that would have been absolute locks otherwise. Which explains why cast rumors have been so turbulent and contradictory.
