This is today's press release giving details of the Federal Reserve's plan to buy $750 billion in corporate bonds. This along with the recent extension of the Paycheck Protection Plan for small businesses from 8 to 24 weeks, which is probably providing a windfall to businesses in areas not heavily impacted by the pandemic, is a huge amount of money the government is throwing at the economy. And of course, the Fed has already spent (printed) like 2 trillion buying government bonds to add money to the system.

Given all this money printing going on, I agree that it's only fair to extend the $600 per month payments. Why should employees of large employers miss out?

I mean, I don't mind discussing with him, but to say I know his intent enough to know what he means is definitely not how I would view it. I also don't think he is discussing to try and listen to both sides. He moreso is a hostile arguer and can make wild arguments too.

There are maybe a couple of people here in this topic that actually discuss with "good faith" on the left when faced with opposing ideology. But, Lasa is borderline on whether I would consider him that. He isn't as bad as some of them I guess, if that's a plus. But, he gets hostile a lot in his discussions.

You can even look to his first post to me here. It was an antagonistic post. He didn't say, hey Corrik did you want to respond to this? Look at his post. It's antagonistic off the bat.

I think Trump is for it, not sure about McConnell. Trump believes that people are using the checks for their intended purpose - to buy stocks - and the plan to send the market higher is working. As soon as the market had one big down day last week the administration immediately started talking about more payouts to individuals.

Bill Clinton could probably handle this situation better, and Biden from 10 years ago might have done a competent job. The version of Biden we have today who appears lost and has trouble putting sentences together would not.

My boss seems okay with the notion of the unemployment being extended. He is super against voting for Biden. Says we lose our jobs for good then.

I'd say approximately half of my co-workers have said if Republicans screw them out of the unemployment boost or a similar idea, they are voting Blue. Other half are Trump or Die.

My mill probably voted 99.7% for Trump last election. Looks very mixed right now. Obviously this is kind of a wedge issue where if the unemployment thing isn't going to affect you, you kind of don't realize it maybe.

We all pretty much agree it was broken when it came out so if they adjust it some to fix it being broken it is understandable, but... We think something should be in place also.

Which, sure it is opportunistic I guess. It affects us so we want it. But, we reasonably believe our jobs we are being laid off from are because of the Coronavirus and the Unemployment boost itself also with the autoworkers refusing to go back. So, *shrug*

In past seasons you've been totally wrong about Kaep "just not being good enough" to be in the Top 64 QBs in the league given he literally led a team to a Super Bowl compared to some of the QBs making rosters and starts in that timeframe.

This season though is super weird where QB supply is higher than QB demand which might be a first in like 15+ years so in a league where Cam Newton is still unsigned it's a lot more believable that Kaep would remain without a team this year because Newton even with injury concerns has to be the obvious top of the board pick and I'm stunned he wasn't signed to a team immediately when he became available.

But I mean this isn't Goodell's decision at all so it's an empty statement really.
