I actually just read that, it seemed like they were mainly upset that the show didn't make fun of Trump more.

When it was first announced I thought the show would be more satrical but the first episode kind of clearly set the expectation that it wasn't going to be that type of show. It's still really funny and goofy at times it's just not a complete satire on Trump like I thought and I didn't mind that at all.

The first episode was kind of slow but after that I definitely enjoyed it. The show has a lot of enjoyable characters. I think the standout performance was Dr. Mallory, his character was almost always fun to watch.

i watched the first couple of episodes. it wasnt bad but i dunno dude, the humor felt kinda predictable...

I'm reading some reviews and it definitely seems like these people have some type of agenda

That said as a show its very slow with unlikeable characters, it should have been a full blown satire revolving around the War Room and/or Malkovich and his character as equal billing. I like Carrell but he has struggled to carry a movie/show on his own.

Which characters did you not like? I liked everyone except for probably Erin, she was cool sometimes and other times she was annoying. But I guess they were trying to go for the whole rebellious teenager thing.

I guess they tried to make it political satire, but i only recall two characters based on real people.

It wasn't as good as i hoped , but being a huge Office fan, i definitely had unfair expectations. Malkovich was the stand out character for sure.

I'm liking it so far. I have a feeling that people are highly expecting The Office but military. The humor isn't super out there but it's subtle and it has its moments. The part with them trying to get the monkey to fix the station was gold

Watched the first two episodes and stopped. Episode one was great. Two was terrible. Its like its trying to be a comedy drama, but cant make up its mind as to what kind of show it actually is.

Not good.

The daughter being kidnapped felt really out of place to me. Though I think if the show were more of a drama like that or action/adventure it might have been good. And the partial rescue at the end just made it feel like no real danger was happening hell, they didnt even notice her hanging back or leave initially, though I guess they were on drugs - youd think by not stopping and dragging her there it would be a lot worse.

Yeah that whole mini arc was just weird and seemed like a waste of time

Didn't really make me really enjoy the show less though

also John Malkovich is excellent as always

I honestly think steve carrell is the weak point in the show

like, were probably going to finish it at this point but its just not funny, not clever, and not particularly interesting story-wise

its amazing to me there are so many talented people involved and this is what they came up with

The daughter, the pilot/astronaut lady, the social media guy and the Air Force Chief. I think better casting would have solved this.

I binged it with a friend, it's okay but it's kind of weak. John Malkovich is the strong point of the series, Steve Carrell is decent and I like Ben Schwartz, but I think the writing is tired.

Don't go into this show expecting snappy jokes or expressive, human dialogue. It's fine, and I didn't hate it, but it's definitely not my favourite show ever.

I watched a few episodes of it and it seems alright so far. It has it's moments, but other times some of the jokes fall flat. Although to be fair, it's still just the first season, so they're still laying out the base frame, introducing new characters, etc. and I think comparing it to The Office is a little unfair, since even The Office and Parks and Recreation had slow opening seasons.

I don't like the daughter though. Hopefully that changes.

This article makes it seem like Trump came up with the idea for a Space Force and it was a bad idea, neither of which are true.

Dunno. It wasn't awful but it felt like it was trying too hard to me. Quit after 3 eps I really didn't enjoy.

I don't see the problem. All they did was take several existing departments, and their funding, and merged them under one banner.

I don't think we watched the same show. Acting generals called each other tampons, they hired people from craigslist to be astronauts like 1 week later, and a monkey performs a spacewalk repair on a satellite.

Yeah but between those moments it was pretty grounded.

Malkovich was the star anyway, loved him in it.

No cute receptionist and no salesmen that plays pranks on another salesman.
