If I thought Trump was a greater danger for our republic than the Democrats and liberals, that would change my mind. In this topic Democrats and liberals have been openly supporting violence and armed revolt. In doing so, they are attacking our republic, and our democracy. Democracy only works where the people believe in it, in the idea that we do things because the people vote for them rather than because those with power command them at the point of a gun. It is precious, and fragile, and we must defend it against these liberals.

As I'm in a deep-red state, my vote doesn't ultimately matter so a symbolic vote for a third party is more important for me. Dismantling the current system is more important to me than voting for the lesser evil, especially if both efforts will end up in vain.

I do not have faith in Biden to improve the status of black lives in America.

Voting third party does absolutely nothing to dismantle the current system. The way voting in this country is set up and the way legislative districts in this country are set up will always result in things coalescing into two parties, even if there can be a temporary state of flux when one party falls apart and things re-align. At best, a vote for a third party helps contribute to throwing things into that state of flux (But realistically, not happening), and then the system carries on as it has been.

They have become the distraction these protests didnt need, because they provided the scapegoat for the Right to have a justified reason to hate the protests.

It's actually scary to see how quickly our nation's police force have become ineffective to stop the looting and arson all across the country. I guess we're all not as safe as we thought. This juxtaposed with Trumps demand for militarization and martial law. It's like the two extremes of law & order clashing head to head.

Just for the record I think Twitter videos of riots and protests are exceptionally poor sources of information. Based on what I've seen I'd say that probably the police are escalating things, but it's far from settled fact in my mind.

The most damning pieces of information in my eyes by several orders of magnitude are accounts from news stations of their news crews getting attacked.

also this is simply factually false, Joe Biden being president means a hell of a lot more than Joe Biden being president and if you don't understand that take a look at the full Trump cabinet

Betsy Devos is making academic life harder for trans folk like myself and sexual assault survivors like members of my family and she does this entirely independent from the stupidity of the orange dumpling, he just simply put her in the position because he doesn't give a fuck. Ditto goes for Bill Barr who's revealed himself a theocratic authoritarian in charge of the fucking Department of Justice (or KKK apologist Jeff Sessions putting all his focus on marijuana crackdowns). These people follow their own garbage ideologies, just with the extra bonus of sucking up to Trump's whims every so often when he finds out they can do something he wants. T

There's much more to go over *cough*McConnell's wife*cough*, but the point is these powerful positions of government have devolved into fucking over minorities and robbing the lower-class because that's who they are, not because of who's sitting on the seat of President. If Biden gets in I'm not saying that these seats will be filled with the perfect progressives, but absolutely by people with a stronger interest in the job, and they historically are not simple yes-men for whoever the Democratic president may be, party because Biden doesn't have very strong convictions and partly just because all presidents take this advice from others in the party (hence Trump finding conservative trash to fill in). And yes, while Democrats are far behind the progress we need, they do have demonstrable, significant differences of value (see: federalizing gay marriage) that absolutely cannot be waived off as just the same as Republicans who've utterly descended into cartoon villainy, especially as you can see with Trump's actions this week, and the party has 100% completed its transformation into the party of Trump.

I should state my point a different way:

While I believe black and other minority groups' rights will be respected moreso under Biden than Trump, I believe Biden to simply maintain the status quo (vs Trump who actively incites and worsens situations like the current one) which is still not enough to warrant a vote. The status quo is still inherently injust.

I consider my vote to be the most valuable thing I can give. I cannot, in good conscience, endorse Biden with it given his track record.

Either way, it's all ineffectual, so I have to rely upon my conscience over game-theory voting.
