Do you think Tammy Duckworth would be a good choice?

Illinois Senator, Tammy Duckworth is now being vetted and interviewed for VP to run alongside Joe Biden!!

She's been an early supporter of Biden and has been making more tv appearances in reent weeks and even participated in a Biden campaign at a virtual event

Fellow Illionis Senator, Dick Durbin said "She's spectacular, a great colleague, and i hope that she fares well in the interview which i think is going to be taken place soon"

He didn't specify what it was but it was a vigourous vetting process for Biden's running mate which also includes Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, Amy Klobuchar and Stacey Abrams

The 52 y/o Former US Army Veteran was deployed to Iraq in 2004 and lost both her legs when a Black Hawk Helicopter she was co-piloting crashed after being hit by a grenade.

She received a Purple Heart later that year and retired as a lt. colonel a decade later before being elected in 2016 and served as the House of Representatives and was also the first to give birth while in office

Do you think Tammy Duckworth would be a good running mate?

I'm guessing her status as a disabled veteran will be a benefit to his ticket, but what does she bring to the table in terms of qualifications? She's a first-term senator who prior to this served four years as a congressman. Sure, a highly qualified president doesn't necessarily need a highly qualified VP, but given Biden's extreme age, he really needs to pick somebody who can step into his shoes if he can't serve a full term.

Duckworth has only held elected office for 7 years now, which isn't much. Compare that to Amy Klobuchar who's served 13 years as a senator (and prior to that served 8 years as a county attorney). I guess what I'm trying to say is why can't we just get Klobuchar?

I don't know her political views well enough to judge, but on the face of it, a pretty strong choice.
Hell of a lot better than the other choices aside from Warren, who probably would do as much harm as good to Biden's ticket (if the goal is to win over Bernie voters, picking the woman that refused to endorse him twice and accused him of being sexist is probably not gonna accomplish that).

So you're saying the presumptive VP selection has more experience in federal office than the last several presidents combined did before they took office?

She's the worst possible pick. The only group she attracts is the establishment Dems that Biden already has on lockdown. After Tulsi destroyed her in that debate and exposed how horrible her record was for civil rights, liberals would be appalled by her.

Meanwhile somebody like you would only approve of a far-left zealot who insists that no deal is better than one where you get some of what you want and compromise the rest.

Well, he's had decades of executive experience, has had deep political connections for longer than you've been alive, etc, but clearly the fact that he didn't have much tenure in government before has hindered his overall effectiveness. Obama had the same issue, which is why Biden (who should have been the candidate in 08) was a huge help.

You can't be fucking serious. Biden would have gotten destroyed by his voting record. And the fact that he only ever polled single digits in previous attempts when he couldn't leech off of Obama.

.....Just like Biden will get destroyed by his voting record, senility, AND the videos of him creeping on little girls that apparently happened while he was VP in this election.

Biden always has been, and always will be a shitty human being unable to win a popularity contest. He was just a Republican that signed up for the wrong team before he was associated with Obama. And after he's put through a microscope being Obama's VP won't be enough anymore.

2020 was a do-over election. Bernie was the correct choice both times. Enjoy 4 more years of Republicans destroying America and all that it stands for.

You can't be fucking serious. Biden was running against John McCain after GWB left office. Any Democrat with a pulse could have won that race (sorry, Bernie!)

Speaking of "can't be fucking serious," we once again have somebody suggesting that a candidate who can't even win over Democrats will win the nation but a more moderate candidate with a broader national appeal won't. As for "destroying America and all it stands for," you're literally promoting Bernie Sanders. Get the fuck out of here with that shit.

No.

Should have been Nina Turner or Bernie. That would have been good strategically.

This lady is just a carbon copy of Biden as far as I can tell. No crossover. No attempt to win over progressives.

No single payer, no take on war (after Bush), no problem with lobbyists. I'm meh-ing hard.
