And right below his health it has the boots icon and says shiny boots. Which has got me pretty nervous. As SS and CS both had shiny versions of stickers/cards. The partner system seems to be built around deepening Mario's bond with Bowser's minions, which makes sense for them being generics if it's Mario literally making friends with the nameless obstacles he's gonna yahoo into oblivion next week. The important thing is that it hits a bunch of high notes: generally darker tone for the story in spite of the goofiness, an assumed emphasis on gameplay, wacky locales (there's a casino Arabian Snifit town in there), and a battle system that looks simple, but flexible. I'm worried it'll be bad just because... yeah Sticker Star has left a stink, but it looks like it's not so much doing something new as it is playing with concepts all through the Paper Mario series and then doing its own thing with it. You can make a completely different Mario RPG from TTYD, while still having it be an amazing game.
