How we all could spend hours explaining why this game or that game defined the era. For League of Legends, I just remember in 2011 playing it 10hrs a day when I first started, totally encaptured by the game, the concept of the game, the characters, everything. Even though it released in 2009, it's impact both on esports, culture, gaming culture, mainstream media even... I considered all of those factors when listing it as much favorite game of the 2010s. My impulse is to say Witcher 3 or BotW for setting a bar for open world design that has yet to be topped.
