The blue letter is as rare as legendary, I think divine or something like that. Divine Protection is one of those, but you need the Emperor set for the full set effect, which makes her ultra broken if you can get to her ultimate quickly.

Nightingale having a legendary is really good. You pretty much need her sometimes because a mission will ask to keep the units healthy or something. Oh... checking it out, you got the one weapon out of all of them that doesn't heal. I think that's fine if you can spam her ultimate somehow. She probably better suited as a healer, but the attack range on Mandala is pretty good at least

Helen and Celeste, their biggest weakness is that you need to progress quite far to unlock their 1st and 2nd weapons. Seems Code: Sphinx is just standard dps with stacking debuff, so attacking the same enemy works for her. It's not piercing though, which kinda sucks providing her range, but it sounds like a pretty powerful boss killer. She keeps stacking these charges on herself, and you can see the charges on the bottom left as a small greenish icon. The more you have, the stronger the ult basically.

Celeste I haven't used outside Infinite War, but Fake God's Phalanx sounds pretty nutty. Basically kill the marked guy and she becomes an uber lifesteal tank.

A decent team usually has a frontliner, a long range attacker, a healer, and a flex anyways so you have a pretty good base. Don't be afraid to just use Nightingale's 2nd weapon instead. A lot of times the 2nd weapon are usually just as good as the legendaries because they serve other purposes

Sadly the game refuses to give me that last piece of Fran's set, so I can't really exploit that option yet.

Yeah, I pretty much keep Nightingale in all my fights, minus the challenge objectives that specifically tell me not to use her. She's already level 43, maxed the level of her first weapon, and the second is at 5. I figure I'll get use out of her legendary when I have another healer she can swap roles with, though I'm not sure who else gets healing weapons.

I love using Celeste as well, pretty much my go-to melee unit still despite having Fran (though in her defense she's just under-leveled from being new), and Sarah usually ends up my ranged unit because she has the most reliant range/spread. (Angela and Val have point-blank dead zones, Helen can only shoot in one direction at a time, and Ashanti is too random.)

Fourth slot has been whoever I needed for a task or a certain enemy type, so a revolving door of Angela, Shion, Vel, and Fran.

I think I hit the wall in Battle Divas. All of the characters I've been using so far are at max level (Ashanti at 50, everyone else at 40) and I'm stuck unable to clear 6-7 in the main story or 2-2 in the White Empress event to proceed farther in either of those stories.

So what should I do next? Try to level up the two characters (Vel and Julia, and Julia has a 5-star weapon available) I have unlocked that I haven't touched yet? Work on upgrading my gear? Figure something out with biochips?

I've mostly been using Ashanti, Angela, Nightengale, and a miscellaneous fourth depending on if I need a specific character/element for a stage.

Same here (albebeit with a 45 Nightingale instead), and it's been getting on my nerves all day with the endless defeats.

If this is the part where they expect you to grind/pay to advance, it kind of makes the whole "all characters are free" a moot point if you're walled off from half of them (including their weapons just to increase level cap) without lucky chest rolls or weeks/months of farming (and I say that as someone who already has the characters from chapters 11/12/13, so I have less to chase then some of you guys do).

But you know what, fine, the main story is one thing, it's *always* going to be there to work on and I had already accepted that possible carrot on a stick and potential difficulty spike. Annoying, but eventually doable.

Stonewalling/paygating time-limited events though? That's bullshit, and a criticism I held against Arknights recently as well. And it would be one thing if we knew *any* of these events will repeat, but from my experience, games rarely ever rerun non-holiday stuff, at *best* they'll let some rewards become purchasable later (and not always via premium currency, you have to shell out actual cash).

I can be made to work, toil, and wait for what I want for years, I've done it in other games, and I've never been against paying as well when the timing suited me. Trying to force me to "buy now or lose it forever" just makes me start to question why I keep something installed if it's going to be that aggressive with the monetization, or if I feel I've "missed out" on too much of the game to justify sticking with it anymore.

I don't have a lot of patience for games where it's difficult to complete the "main story" anymore. Like, a hard mode like DFFOO or DL does? That's fine. I should be able to steamroll the basic story though. If I can't, I've no interest in even trying. The worst offender of this was Magia: Charma Saga which was really fun until it suddenly became fucking impossible.

Yeah I can easily see Battle Divas being difficult for people who didn't get lucky enough like I did. The gears actually do make a pretty big difference, so do chips and the weapon levels. If you only have characters that are Ch 11/12/13 locked, I recommend at least getting Sigurd at Ch 8. His 2nd weapon is hell to farm, but it's possible with F2P stuff as I've done it with a mostly F2P team. He's good because his 2nd weapon has a 2 tile pushback on his basic attack, making units like Angela or Helen particularly good.

For me, Fran has carried my ass but she's got me to a point where my team isn't Angela's first 3 turns and then Fran carries the rest anymore. By just doing the event to the middle reward? I think?, you can get the skill that decreases ult cd by 2 at turn 3. That skill doesn't require anything rarer than a blue chip, and it gives you 15% to hp.

There are probably ways to improve your team even right now. But yeah it's not an easy game. I personally like it as an RPG nut and a masochist and also to always have something to strive towards rather than just beating all the content outright like I did with say Dragalia early on or Arknights sorta til I lost interest at progressing.

But my advice right now is to save gems and pull for a full set for a character. Honestly the character centric sets are by far the most broken thing in the game. That and 2nd weapon Sigurd will probably help anybody's team because push back is broken in this game. If you have little energy left to spend on the game, that should be your goal

Oh, also Cersei is pretty good for short stages. Getting her 2nd weapon is really easy if you just spam the lowest stam stage 50 times and run the exp dungeon 2-3 times to get her to max lvl

Vel is a bit mediocre unless you have some of her really good weapons. She's really good for a team with a lot of Melees because she gives that move buff on turn 1 that lets you position well. But from what I can see, she's one of those units that get really good once you have her set or her better weapons but mediocre otherwise. I only ever use her if I need fire element

What weapons do you have for those chars? I'll try to give some advice if I can but I've never used Julia before. Her biggest strength is that her Ult is a boss killer, which is pretty important. You also want to give her some Crit so equip her with the HP conditional crit boosters. She gets 50% crit dmg buff at less than 50% hp, which is great if you wanna aim for that. Either that or build for crit dmg if you want to just abuse her crit chance at >50% hp.

Ashanti is also mostly a supportive unit without other attachments. I don't really know what her max lvl stats look like but if you have an attacking weapon for her, the burn effect armor set (eternal sunscorch) might be good on her. That thing activates for the 8 spaces around her whenever you attack. It makes her a lot tankier so you can get her in their faces a bit easier, and she will do much more dps overall

both my rolls on the two new banners took every single roll to get the pity 5*, and with underwhelming results (Provence dupe and Astesia)

Astesia seems alright I guess, though I'm not a huge fan of Block-1 Guards

Depends on the game I suppose, or rather, the age of the game. I imagine older ones have had ample time to rerun stuff or add archives as you mentioned, whereas newer ones don't have an established schedule yet, or they're still trying to draw in crowds with rapid-fire new content before simmering down.

I mean, the Arknights one I mostly missed out on was summer themed (swimsuit skins and all), so maybe it'll be back next year, same with this event in Battle Divas, but that's still "guessing" and not "knowing".

Anyway, it's going to suck watching another event count down without me getting much out of it. Back to farming mod chips and gear shards elsewhere I guess.

How the hell do you get the AI to attack on the first turn? Celeste has enough movement to walk straight forward and attack but instead she goes forward then 1 space up, so she gets hit first <_<

Hey what gives? Why doesn't Eternal Sunscorch work with Angela? It worked perfectly fine when I had that set on Celeste, setting people on fire with ever attack. But Angela's basic attack doesn't cause burn :<

Eternal Sunscorch only works on the 8 spaces around the character, which is why I recommended it on Ashanti who has low range attacks. Also works on every melee

Also I just put all the AIs on all-out attack. I don't even know when I would use the other two tbh.

Also I got screwed on the Order Chip box T-T. Only got 1 purple in 5 boxes and it wasn't the one I needed sigh. I guess I'm crafting and going for non-order set. I did get Yoori's weapon today though so now I have to work on her 2nd weapon, which is a bit of a hard stage that needs wind weapon for breaking which is Angela who has trouble staying alive against Yoori

Oh, I also figured out how the order of attack is determined. It's first based on movement range. People with bigger range of mov attacks first (not sure who attacks first on a tie), which is why Fran always attacks first when her ult is up

Although I have a new question. What's with that magnetism thing with Fran? Not her positive/negative, but I noticed recently that sometimes her attacks draw in or push back enemies. I know her exclusive set has knockback during her Ultimate, but this is just regular.

Oh wait I see. I forgot that I switched her weapons to break the event boss's parts and just noticed that the push/pull thing is it's ability lol

Yeah I'm getting confused in terms of order of attacking. I think maybe I did just coincidentally sort by movement on all my farm runs. That makes sense since I always seem to put my melees near the middle and have Fran be almost perma slotted on my 1st slot. I think I'm just remembering some things wrong

The fire weapon, if you're using that one, has a knockback mechanic where if the enemy has opposite charge from Fran, then they get pushed 2 spaces back, and if they have both charge they get 3 space pushed back. Oh ok yeah you figured it out.

I guess I should try putting Helen on the first slot then. She's a def-down machine. She can actually stack defense down so hard that the enemy defense goes down to negative lmao

Dammit allll the attack order was this simple and now it has changed my life. Thanks for figuring it out. I would've thought it wrong for a while because of a dumb habit

Wow, for Battle Divas, they actually give away Sarah's set weapon and the entire armor set with the skill in the Hero Mission thing. The set skills absolute break every single character I would say

Yeah I'm trying Sarah's weapon, haven't gotten her set yet, but already it absolutely breaks her. Makes her a critting dps machine. It's also fire type which is highly compatible with this event. It's a bit difficult unless you played the game as much as I did, but if you are stuck, this is an f2p way to win.

Also the game is actually ported from a year old game called Hero X Academy released in Japan, Korea, and China and is developed by a Chinese company. It's kinda funny how subdued the gameplay is in Japanese mobile games compared to China where they actually try to make an RPG, even though Chinese games are generally rough around the edges and lack the vets to make the game flow well. Of course Korean gaming companies always make games with insanely high production, but they EA-ify their games by considering them products and put a billion hours of grinding because work is the only way they know how to live.

Yeah you can buy additional tries for 88 gems? at the gem store for the first 50 times. I think it's worth it, but saving a bunch of gems for a single banner also sounds like a viable strategy.

Also yeah my 2nd best try was 14 lmao. My best was just so much better at 22. All it takes is a really good comp.

My best run was 15, but for the last two weeks I can't get beyond 7-8, which sucks because there's a weekly quest that requires reaching 10 and I've only ever completed it once since I started playing. Bloody damn RNG.

On the plus side, I finally managed to make some progress in the event quests. Just needed some "anti-Mech" biochips and I was finally able to shred through Yoori (with 6 stars even).

So I'm on an Infinite War round with Helen, Angela, Sarah, Vel. I honestly just thought this was a throwaway round with bad RNG, but it turns out that this combination is literally exodia. I dunno if it's fixed chance, but as soon as I got this combo, I was able to choose a Unique Passive? Combo Passive? I forget what it's called. But it specifically required these 4 in your party, and it launches a laser beam for the first 4 turns of declaring your attack, coming out of a pre-determined order of each of the members.

I also managed to roll a forbidden weapon for Helen and... well I think it has fully convinced me to prioritize hers first. It is overly overpowered. Literally just melts the person in a straight line ahead of her, and she just keeps on shooting til the person bh the dead person dies too. It's hysterical, and despite being on round 15, she has managed to kill the boss on the 2nd turn. The lasers help too

Celeste binds the enemy for the first turn which is great, but she makes the absolute WORST use of that <_<

Like imagine the grid like this

A = Celeste
B = Enemy
O = Empty space

She can just move 5 spaces forward and attack on the first turn, right? But instead she moves 4 spaces forward then one space up. She doesn't attack, and a lot of characters can still attack her even though they can't move. WHY IS THE AI SO STUPID <_<

I just cleared stage 15 for the first time with a team of Sigurd, Shion, Sarah, and Angela. I got Sigurd this Dauntless Charge skill where he charges into battle before turn 1 and stuns a few enemies, and Angela fires 2 laser shots (1 from her weapon, 1 from a skill I got her) before turn 1 and basically decimates any enemy that starts the battle in the same row as her. It's not as broken as what @legendarylemur got earlier (how far did you end up going with that team btw?) but I think I've got myself a good setup this run. EDIT: And then I immediately get gangbanged in stage 16 by a dozen Fuma shadow clones and lose. Because of course.

I got 18 til I got wrecked by a double Fuma/double Muramasa floor =_= Damn you invisible. I dunno what it is about enemy Fumas tho. They're just dummi thicc on top of being invis. I'd run this comp again though. It was so freaking fun just rampaging through the stage, but you also lose just as fast lmao

Also Core Weapon farming is surprisingly not bad. Mostly in that you only really have to do the stage a fixed 10 times if you can break part reliably. The stamina is a bit of a temporary problem but my stam potion intake has been outpacing my outtake despite how much I'm playing this rn. I'm gunning for Nightingale first and then will have to pick my next target. Angela's stage is a bit too hard for me, so might go for Sarah's next.

The first 4 char dungeons are a lot easier than the rest imo. They're still hard but not impossible like Fran's dungeon lmao

I see a lot of people compare it to Epic 7, but I don't really see it, aside from maybe the Advent Bosses that you fight for better gear. I feel like Epic 7 is waaaay more grindy and takes a while to feel like your units are progressing. It's also stingier on the currency and has worse rates than Hero Cantare.
