Sigurd farming paid off. I got the chip skill that reduces ult cd by 2 for the team (which required a 4* unit) and order set on Fran. But then I ran into a supportive Fran whose purpose was to just inflict seal =_=. So I lost a pvp match today. Destroyed the rest where Fran wasn't getting sealed.

This was actually my biggest problem with the game that I kept forgetting to talk about, which is a serious lack of a status effect cleansing mechanic. As far as I can see, I don't see a weapon that actively cleanses status, doesn't help that PVP is auto and characters will just run face into every threat ever on screen

I am salty as fuck. I know I keep complaining about it, but the AI in Battle Divas could NOT be worse. My characters will go OUT OF THEIR WAY to attack less enemies. Like Fran was facing 3 enemies, and she moved down so that she would only attack one of them <________<

Depending on how time-consuming SINoALICE is I may drop this game too. Bad AI I can stand, but this is the absolutely worst I have ever seen by a ridiculous margin.

Although on a happier note, I found out that if it's down to 1v1 and Bunzai dies and his explosion also kills their last guy, it's a win for you lol.

Lmao yeah the AI is beyond frustrating. But I think aggressive movement basically prioritizes getting to the other end of the stage and not much else. I kinda wish I can just use the CPU's AI. I wonder if the default AI is just that and I'm gimping myself trying other stuff.

Also err... I'm currently on stage 32 of Infinite War lmao... Turns out a souped up Vel is an insane carry. Also almost always pick the sealed weapons.

Dammit, lost to just a flat out unfair floor... I think it's a preview to a xmas event of sort. It was 2 floors of boss fight with excessively more hp than any other floor.


That was floor 25? I forget but every battle became a complete chaos


But honestly not that much better reward post floor 20

Yeah lol. I can't say the other stages were a breeze because often times I was left with 1 unit who barely managed to clutch it out. But that floor was just something else

Now speaking from this experience and a few other previous runs, Fuma is actually really really good, especially with this update giving him the option of using the Furinkazan ultimate, which is why there's absolute pandemonium on the screenshot. He's very meh on the damage side but he's easy to build tanky, and his clones trivialize some fights.

Helen is almost always a good choice. I think she can either be an ultra dps with the sealed weapon or an AOE status/support/side dps. She's bad against Fuma but Fuma in general just sucks to deal with. If you get her ult enhancing passive, she just completely wrecks. It turns her ult into a 2 parter that does a dirty ton of damage, but you also need to attack with her to build some charges first.

Vel with her sealed weapon can actually carry hard. Her alternate ult that basically roots a 3x3 square is stupidly broken. It will destroy every boss that can be rooted. I think you need good rolls to make her good but when she's good, she's tier 32 good. I barely got any damage rolls on Helen so Vel was my main carry, and she ended up pulling like 15-20k dmg with a crit. She ended up out-dpsing Angela in some of my other runs but was also able to AOE dmg.

But yeah, go for the sealed weapons asap, as they seem to be much stronger on this mode? For other passives, stack damage constantly on a carry and stack defensive stats on your main tank, but occasionally give your carry something like dodge for the first 3 turns etc, ones that are cheap and effective to survive for 3-4 turns. Kinda just let the other 2 be tbh. Let them get stuff like status inflicts or debuffs that can help your carry. If you spread out the damage you'll eventually lose. If you spread out the tankiness then both your tanks will just be paper later on.

Omg lol got to Tier 32 again and lost. I think they just mega soup up the enemies from that specific tier. I kinda breezed through all the other floors, but that floor just had like mega HP. They hard tanked about 4 ults from Vel

And guess what, used Helen and Vel again. I think Vel's passive giving you the kind of opener you want is actually pretty powerful. My first turn was literally Vel gets invincible turn 1, runs up to the enemy and fires. Also sealed weapons op.

I also tried Ling this time. If you get her Sealed Weapon, she just lays down mad AOE shield to your units. Her AOE heal alt. ult was also not bad. Interesting push/pull mechanic that actually saved my life in a stage or two

Also this time I gave Sigurd the golem summoning one, which was very useful. I think it's important to have a unit that can summon fodders. Angela is also not bad for this role

I think it will, and considering that this is only the second gacha game (the first being Girls' Frontline) that's ever managed to hook me without being a part of an existing franchise that I was already a fan of, I certainly hope it will.

- the character designs are great

- the gameplay is fun and strategic even in tough levels while being simplistic enough for auto-battles to still be useful for grinding easier levels

- the whole "every character can be acquired through normal gameplay, no gacha needed" thing means that the "I didn't pull my waifu when she was in rate-up so I may as well quit" scenario never happens and the more casual "just pull for my waifu" type of players are less likely to quit

- the deep weapon/equipment system still provides an incentive for the more serious "rank high and aim to be the best" type of players to whale for an advantage in PvP modes while not interfering in the "just pull for my waifu" players' enjoyment of the game

- the weapon/equipment system also allows for existing characters to receive future buffs in the form of a new weapon or equipment set, meaning that everyone's waifu can theoretically avoid/lessen being power-crept out of viability by a future buff

- Infinite War is an awesome and unique mode that lets people try out a variety of characters without needing to unlock them, and it also provides another way for the "rank high and aim to be the best" players to show off their skills by going as far as they possibly can

The only major flaw I could see in player retention would be if too many players get stuck unable to make progress in the story and aren't patient enough to grind and upgrade their characters, weapons, and gear to overcome it. If players feel like they can't even reach the later content without spending money, they'll probably quit, especially if their most desired waifu is one of the late chapter characters like Celeste, Helen, or Fran. I'm at that story wall myself right now, but I'm being patient and grinding to push through it.

With GFL, I made it well into the game's second year from launch before I got bored of it and quit. I think Battle Divas could potentially have that same kind of staying power for me once I clear that story hurdle and get a good team built up.

It's a given that they'll add more. The question is how many and how often. It's possible that they might go with a smaller but more fleshed out and recognizable cast, only rarely adding new characters and preferring to release new weapons for the existing cast.

It's the one with the 5 chips, Tactical Command. Needs 2-3 Tier 3s to get the whole team using ultimates though

For the characters, I believe the original only has like 3-4 chars over the english version right now. Depends on how well this version does I guess? They're an indie studio in China so it's hard to say. Same goes for how long the game will last, since it's not had that much traction

JFC that was one hell of a whale then. Also yeah, its almost guaranteed that theyre gonna add more characters, but its probably going to take a while and theyre not going to add a significant amount. I like gachas with at least 50 or so characters. I also dont care for those ones with like 10 characters but they just have a lot of different versions of them. I think that Memoria Freeze or whatever had a system like that?

Im probably going to be too caught up in SINoALICE by the time Battle Divas gets even one or two more guys :<

Yeah, I can see that being a detriment, and I say that as someone who already has Celeste, Helen, and Fran from lucky chest rolls.

Of course, getting them too early has its own downsides, namely the lack of weapon variety and being stuck at *1 while others are becoming *3.

That's how I got Helen myself. I had assumed prior to that you could only get *5 weapons from special chests (like the rate-up banner ones), but even common ones can have them too.

Yeah if you're stuck, making a Forbidden Weapon or seeing if you can beat one of the core weapons dungeon should be the next step. The 3* is a pretty big leap, and Ashanti by herself isn't really much of a carry.

Eventually you'll just randomly roll something good. If you rolled a Sigurd weapon, getting to Sigurd recruitment ch should be your next goal. I'd say he won't carry a stage for you but will make a LOT of them possible. Especially if you're trying to break a part, he will tank for days for any of the story dungeons

Right now I have:

Ashanti at 3 stars (her 2 default weapons plus a 5-star weapon)
Sarah, Nightengale, Fuma, Angela, Shion, Cersei, and Vel at 2 stars (all with only their default weapons and no 5 star ones)
Sigurd, Julia, and Fran at 1 star (because I pulled 5-star weapons for them)

Assuming I don't pull anything else, would I be better off getting my first forbidden weapon for one of those 2-star characters who only have their default weapons, one of the 1-stars that I already have a 5-star weapon of, or to unlock a late-game character that I don't have at all yet?

That's tricky. I think Julia's Ch is 7? You might want to consider her. She's pretty decent, but I'd also look at her damage.

Also another option is to give it to Nightingale. I think ppl have said hers is one of the best. You definitely need one really good carry on your team though, but building up Julia and using Nightingale to carry you out of Ch 6 is also an option

When you start a new account, you get 20 chances at the opening roll to pull a 5-star weapon and a character with it, and the chances of getting a weapon in the opening roll seemed to be fairly high. It only took me 7 of the 20 chances to pull a weapon for (IMO) best girl Ashanti, and I pulled a weapon in at least half of those. So the chances of you not getting a single satisfactory roll in those 20 chances are slim.

But if you somehow go all 20 of those rolls without a satisfactory one, then making a new account to start over to get another shot isn't easy at all. To start over, you would have to make an entirely new Facebook or Google Play account (just making a new e-mail address isn't enough) to link it to because it's impossible to unlink your previous game account from whatever Facebook or Google account you used to start.

YES! It took me over a dozen tries with nearly as many different combinations, but I finally managed to beat 6-7 after it gave me so much trouble! I did it with Sarah + Angela using their Ice weapons (for the part break) along with Nightengale + Sigurd for support. Me pulling that weapon for Sigurd last night was actually even more of a blessing than I thought, because his knockback keeping the Silent Black Lord away from the healing tiles is the only reason why I finally managed to win and clear this big hurdle in my way.

Oh dang you got one of his knockback ones? Knockback is op in this game lol. Make sure to keep in mind the attacking order is the deployment order. Before I knew that, I'd just have Fran or Sigurd knock back ppl out of range of my attacks.

But yeah Sigurd is really good. He's one of the best units to manage aggro while you try for a break. I don't think I'd be able to do a lot of the part break farms without him.

Also you don't have to part break to beat a stage. If you have a lot of units that are sorta in the later stages, I'd prioritize progressing through the stages over doing the missions or the part breaks. Especially since Black Lord etc don't really give weapon parts

Well, *3 eventually via Core Weapon unlocks. I figure that's the better plan of action because the increased level cap of 50 makes a noticeable difference, as well as the added part breaking potential.

Contrast that with making my *1 into *2 when I already know my current *2 are struggling on these stages, and a freshly unlocked *1 will have it even worse.

Like lvl 1 to about lvl 5 or so is almost double the current damage of that unit when they just got the weapon. Doesn't help the Core weapons are slightly weaker than the rollable 5* counterparts. They have to have some other perks to make them worth their while.

Their main purpose is to make them 3*+, but there are really good ones like Nightingale's or Fuma's

Yeah, I got his Call Of Destiny weapon. I quickly learned to put him in the last slot (or 2nd-to-last if I also have Nightengale healing) so his attacks come after the others. I also have Fran's Broken Soul weapon that can push back enemies, but not by as much as Sigurd's weapon.

If you guys want to start a new mobile game then I recommend King of Fighters All-Star. Right now they are giving one of the best characters(Orochi) for free along with all his upgrades. With him you could clear about 90% of the content of the game

The game is very fun, too. It's a beat em up game with KoF characters and they had a ton of guest characters from Tekken, Samurai Showdown and WWE.

I'm not much of a KoF fan myself. I only liked Fatal Fury and Metal Slug as SNK games but other than that I am a Capcom and Street Fighter loyalist.

But this game is fun in terms of combat. If you like beat em up games you'll definitely like this game. This game is easy for the most part. They give you lots of free stuff, lots of rubies to get premium stuff, gives you a ton of energy refilling items so you could literally play all day. The only flaws I'd say is PVP is awful if you're big into that and coop multiplayer is almost non-existent.

Yeah I'm a bit OCD when it comes to pulls since I want to maximize the rolls I can do on a banner that interests me, so I only ever do single pulls (Helps that I've been rather lucky about usually not needing to do the full 10 pulls for most banners) but I did collect a small pile of 10-draw tix from the shop so I'm going to have to use those at some point.

Lmao yeah. I get her either this weapon or the 3x3 def breaker in IW, also have both on my own Helen now. But it seems busted, yet it's actually not. The first attack is by far the strongest, but it actually reduces the number of attacks quite a bit based on how many attacks it took to kill the enemy. The weapon does get a bind and a burst when you attacked enough times, but I feel like I never see this when it should be relevant.

Angela is better by about turn 5-6 where Angela's World gets ramped up a bit and her sealed weapon's bullet gets charged, whether or not you can get there is up to the build. Later on in the tiers, at least being able to kill stuff seems more important than consistency

Also yeah Tier 33 is where they just randomly like double the enemy's HP and power. From what I've seen, I've not seen more than like 2 screenshots above tier 33

cuter than who in particular? I mean, I like her design better than Skyfire/Ifrit, but not Eyja.

also on the subject of Arknights, EX-7 has been giving me a ton of trouble, even following a playthrough as best I can doesn't work. It's hard to tell if I'd be best off investing my Sanity into further upgrades for my main teams, leveling unused operators to try and replicate strats other people have done, or risking it on Challenge modes for other event stages.

And some of these challenge modes are pretty silly, some like EX-2 in particular seem to just be based on exploiting how dumb the AI can be...that's kind of a problem I have in general with Arknights, is that some stages seem to be nonsensically difficult until you realize some other solution. EX-3 is another one, there's a beefy enemy that walks on a path that you can't deploy any melee operators on to block him; the solution is to use Rope and pull him onto actual tiles.
