It's not a bad game at all, nor is it excellent. I think it's a case of "people want to like it for a number of reasons" and therefore it's heralded as awesome. "I like" does not equal "is good" though, and therein lies the trick. Some people can't make that distinction. I like Dynasty Warriors, but I also realize it's not good. Witcher 3 is a 7/10 Mass Effect 3's only negative is its "choose your own ending" deal and the pre-patched, weak-ass conclusion. But the journey itself is infinitely superior to the Witcher.
