He echoes Trump in re-opening America after he he was let go from WAFFLE HOUSE as a line cook in Cartersville and thinks the country is over-reacting to a "little flu" He said "With all the craziness going on in the world, America should show people that this is not something that should shut down countries. We should be leading the world in showing our strength and that we are no weak people giving into a flu. We need real adults in the room" Joey is a former national guardsman got the disease in February but didn't think of anything of it until he had chills and body aches and it became so bad he went to the ER and was at first diagnosed with pneumonia until a few days later he was told he ahd COVID-19. For 6 days he was palced in a 26 foot RV as the divorced father of 2 was hoping to get back to work after he recovered. When he emerged from his quarantine, he found it UNNERVING that people are wearing masks and surgical gloves and wiping down gas pumps and said "It's like Mad Max. It's kind of weird. It's like everybody's holding their breath, waiting for either society to collapse or society to get back to normal. Look at me, i recovered just fine and most of us will. People will die but that's life.". His 10.65 hour job was cut back because of few customers but eventually closed as his other part time job as a party driver ended and now he's worried how he'll make ends meet Joey says "A person who makes 50 or 60,000 a year just isn't understanding what this means" Camp is one of many rural americans who are dismissing these social distancing and shut downs compared to big cities as Joey has a message to these people and said "It's not going ot kill the vast majority of us. People are hearing 3.4% death rate but not the 96% of us who will live. This is no big deal" Camp says he's a libertarian, although never voted Demcorat, says he will vote for Trump again as he lives in a farming and manufacturing town of 20,000 people in northwest Atlanta He said "We have more chickens in this county than we have coronavirus victims. There's over 300 million of us and only 1000 people have died? A shutdown over this? To this point, that means working our medical infrastructure into collapse if COVID-19 is allowed to spread quickly enough to overwhelm our medical capacity.
