There was no Year 0, so it goes 1-10, NOT 0-9. As such, this is the last year of the decade, new decade starts in 2021 just like how the new century started in 2001.

So the point is... the 0s decade isn't actually a decade because it only has nine years. But the thing is that it is way less common to say that a decade goes from 1 - 10, than from 0 - 9. No one is actually wrong.

A decade is any span of 10yrs. 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s ect is just a easy reference point used by us to identify our culture around that span of time. Nothing to do with when we started recording years.

actually counting from 0 is the superior method. because it's more intuitive and effective in calculations.

You're conflating decades with centuries. You would have an argument if we referred to decades like we do with centuries with "the 20th Century." But we don't. No one says "the 202nd decade." Centuries are also referred to in two different ways: "the 1900s" and "the 20th Century." These are not the same, as they're 1900-1999 and 1901-2000, respectively.
