Do you support what this man did?

Lake Country, BC Resident Dan Marcotte and his girlfriend deeply regret CLEANING OUT the MEAT section at a Save On Foods that has now gone viral and he says they deeply regret what they did and it wasn't their intent.

He said sobbingly to Global News "We just wanted to protect ourselves, our family, and our animals"

The Canadian couple said they panicked when people were hoarding food at supermarkets and prompted them to do the same and said "We decided to go, buy meat and essentials toget us by because according to the media, this could go on for months."

The viral video was seen by over 300,000 people shaming the couple for clearing out the entire meat section as they accused them of not saving any for others and possibly RESELLING the meat to make a quick buck.

The girlfriend was seen visibly smiling at the recording as both of their shopping carts were seen with all of the meat cleaned out from the meat section leaving viewers outraged

Now they received DEATH THREATS from online people as Dan says "I'm just worried about myself getting death threats. I want to make it right. I want to give the Lake Country food bank a donation of $1000 to show the community we are not cruel people and are not benefiting. I was honestly looking out for myself and my family"

Do you support what this man did to clean out the meat section?.

So he recorded himself and his GF doing this, posts it online all while claiming he cares about his family then is shocked when he gets death threats? The donation is irrelevant. This guy and gal are selfish.

No real prepper would leave that sort of obvious signal pointing back to their preps, so I'm guessing this is just some random asshole.

The strange thing isn't that they decided to clear out the supermarket, as there are a lot of idiots doing that, but that they thought they would be praised for inconveniencing everyone in their community for doing it.

Also, if you're concerned about food running out and and want to stock up, meat isn't the best thing to be buying. Beans have protein and last much longer.

Even if you freeze that meat you get at most 4 months out of it, unless they eat around 1 pound of meat for every single meal and have a family of 4-5 or something that shit will go bad before they use it.

He is a piece of shit. No one family can eat that much meat. It's impossible and doesn't even make sense.

Peanut butter or other equivalent products are also better choices for emergency purposes.

If it's a dog eat dog world, then the better move would be to make sure to save some for his neighbors, or they'll be getting their meat off his ribs.

When I went to the supermarket last week I thought for sure that mixed nuts would be gone, because a handful of those can pretty much make up for a meal in a pinch. But nope, shelf was full of them like no one even cared. They were too busy buying up the toilet paper and bread.

And just to be clear I only bought one jar (although it was a 2 lb jar), I saved plenty for the rest of the people who wanted them.

That's not true at all. Meat lasts for a year when frozen properly.

Crackers and peanut butter are probably one of the best choice you can have as far as emergency supplies go. Easy to stockpile, pretty cheap, good balance of proteins and fat, doesn't rot easy.

The cashiers probably should have refused the sale.

Depending on when it happened, they may not have had the authority to do so. When I went grocery shopping on Thursday, some of the meat had signs up indicating limits per customer (mostly the stuff that was on sale, which included ground beef), but that wasn't the case the week before, in which the cashier would have no concrete grounds for refusing the sale.
