Only very special movies at this point

anything by Quentin Tarantino is an automatic DVD / Blu Ray buy, for example. In the last 5 years, his movies are the only ones Ive bought, actually. I loved both Hateful Eight and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

Yes. Mostly super cheap things that catch my eye. And I just completed my Smallville collection; first five seasons are only on DVD and I got the last five on bluray.

Sure! To keep and watch any time I want. Cheaper than memory cards.

If I don't know the movie, watch on Netflix or Prime Video, if worth keeping, buy the disc.

Games, try on GamePass, if worth keeping, buy the disc.

Usually I only buy DVDs/Blu-ray disks for anime movies (especially Studio Ghibli films), bios of people that I'm interested in learning more about (such as Alan Turing, Jackie Robinson, etc.). In fact the last DVD/Blu-rays I bought were Black Panther (saw it in the theater and enjoyed it), Avengers: Infinity Wars and Avengers: Endgame (which I have yet to watch). Lately I've been too busy with other things to watch movies on DVD/Blu-Ray or otherwise.

Cheaper than memory. Has jacket notes. And if I want to show a movie or clip to my class, I just stick the DVD in my bag to shove into the classroom computer. And, yes, very durable, I've had some for 20 years.

I grab TV and movie collections on Blu Ray just so I have some nice shelf dressings. I rarely use them, I prefer to watch the digital versions for convenience sake.

I would never grab single movies though, just seems inefficient.

I used to own all kinds of shit on DVD, until I moved across country 3 years ago and sold ~75% of my collection, haven't really bought much since since I can stream most of it now anyway. Now, I stream shows and movies roughly 95% of the time. All I have now is 1 shelf's worth of movies on my TV stand, and the full series of 5 of my all-time favorite shows.

Yes. Though I probably shouldn't as I have watched maybe 1/5 of my actual collection and never seem to get that urge to want to watch them.

Though between Big Lots clearance (movies for $1 or LESS on Blu-Ray or DVD) and even now Dollar Tree getting them (picked up Hang 'Em High and the OJ Simpson doc from ESPN there the other day) I've added two more places besides thrift stores to pick them up at.

Plus I've been getting lucky with the DVD and Blu-Ray copies from all three sources and getting working digital codes. So for $1-2 or so apiece it's not that bad to add them to a backlog. If I were paying full price though? Fuck that. Only movies I've picked up in the past 10 years for full price are the Deadpool movies and maybe 1-2 more.

@keyblader1985
They just had them mixed in with the regular priced ones at the Big Lots I've been to. But so far I've picked up the Robocop remake on Blu-Ray for UNDER $1 among other Blu-Rays and DVD's that were less than the $3-5 "MSRP" for the store. Best part is most of them came with the codes for the digital version that redeemed to Movies Anywhere.

Deleted scenes are nice, so are bloopers. But commentary is what I like most about DVD/Blue Rays. Sometimes the movie has commentary that isn't good though.

Commentary's are good. I still like Resident Evil 1's commentary where Rodriguez and Jovavich where poking fun at one of the male actors because he had a thing for ice cream and how he brings in buckets and their like "What's with all that ice cream pal?" Was pretty funny. But yeah some are kind of duds agreed.
