ive never been to europe but WTF at some of this shit if its real

-no screens in windows
-no air conditioning
-bathrooms cost money to use
-water costs money in restaurants, no refills, no ice
-no clothes dryers
-no handicapped accessibility
-gas, drivers licenses are too expensive for the average person to drive
-taxes for radios and tvs
-everything in constant disrepair
-toilets dont use suction
-can be jailed for saying something offensive

i get the impression that the nicest european cities are like on par with rural mississippi

Wish you'd tell that to my friend in Holland who frequently complains of the heat and being eaten alive by the mosquitoes that fly in through his windows.

When he told me his windows didn't have screens I was just baffled.

It absolutely get hot enough in the summer in England to want a/c and screens on the windows. I lived next to a pig farm when I was stationed over there and opening the windows wasn't an option because the amount of flies that would flood my house was ridiculous.

Went to Frankfurt, Germany this year and was surprised by the small glass bottles for drinks they sell at 2.8 euros in restaurants.

There is barely any content in it! Only like 1 normal sized gulp worth of liquid in the bottles.

Giving guests tap water unless specified is frowned upon. I always thought that was the same in the US.
Don't know about the UK, but here if you specifically say "I want tap" they're obligated to give it to you for free.

Is that the thing they have at McDs where you can refill? Used to be somewhat common, but haven't seen it anywhere besides Pizza Hut and Lunch Garden the past 2 decades. Even McDs got rid of it in the late 90s due to teens hanging out all day paying for a single drink.
And yeah, you have to specifically ask for tap. I honestly wouldn't even dare to drink tap in some parts of Europe so I'm glad that I get a bottle so I can see where my water comes from.

On the handicapped accessibility issue...maybe the fact that we don't have thousands of fat people riding scooters plays into that as well. I've seen pics of US stores with multiple of those in a single pic, I've never seen a single one IRL.

Yeah, but that can be said for pretty much anywhere due to globalization. And both the US and EU have a nasty habit of forcing their way of doing things onto other nations.
Don't think they'll ever succeed as far as Europe goes...just too many differences and languages. Hell, I live in a country that's a speck on the map and we have 3 official languages.
