Based off what I've heard Blizzard showed off enhanced gameplay and cutscenes to convince people to preorder. The game came out and isn't close to what was initially shown, everyone's pissed and want refunds which Blizzard won't give and apparently if people explain how to get refunds on Blizzard forums they get banned.

At least that's what I remember hearing. Idk if there's more to it

They said that they would have cinematic cutscenes but there aren't any there.
And oh yeah if you make anything with the game, like creating a mode, a map, a scenario or something Blizzard owns everything you do.
So there you go.

It's kinda exaggerated though
I mean well it's still Warcraft 3 and besides one time I encountered a FPS drop and one time I got the "instant defeat" bug everything was fine
So if you just want to play the campaign I guess it isn't bad

But if we review it based on what it brings to the table as a remaster..the score is deserved imo
Graphics isn't terrible but isn't really that much better than the original which is 18 years old ffs
Regular trees look awful
Blizzard also lied about many things and did false advertising

It now doesn't want to let me play without a 29.5GB install.

You have to manually install and find ways to manually patch.

Even then I believe you can only play offline.

The worst part of this, by far, is that now Ulti won't ever shut up about how Warcraft 3 is the worst game ever. Before it was clearly him trolling about the hero system but now he has actual data even if its just for the shitty remaster.

oh, and one of the joys of multiplayer on the original WC3 was being able to use multiple accounts to have a different ladder level with differing strats(AKA dumb strats like tower rushing).

You are now locked into a single account(Ladder doesnt exist yet lol, but it will soon and locks you to playing under your single BNet ID). So now playing for fun will go on your permanent record.

Oh, and that doesn't just fuck over people trying to have fun. People tend to play a single race. The races are very different and you can be amazing with one race and absolutely poop with the other. So you'd make a second account to learn Human and leave your main say Undead account that was high up the ladder alone so you could learn.

Now players that want to learn a new race are just going to have to get destroyed to reach a low enough point they can play casually enough to learn a new race.

Basically Blizzard discounted the idea that their might be people that wanted to play WC3 for the first time here.

Legit, even with no personal connection to Blizzard or it's properties, this is BAFFELING. How does it happen? How do they LET it happen? How does Blizzard allow such a poor will product to release with their current controversy as a company?

Is there any situation at all where they wouldn't have been better not announcing it in the first place? I don't even feel like remastered WC3 was a thing people were particularly clamoring for, just an "oh, neat" reaction.

no a proper remaster of WC3 would have been neat.

Probably still a bit unnecessary as their ignored the previous games in the series existence but still something people would enjoy if done properly.

But Blizzard philosophy used to be they'd release stuff "when its ready"...this is about as far a cry away from that as they've ever been.

I saw some screen shots. The colors look really washed out and the aesthetics are lacking in the same personality. The SC remaster was way better-looking.

The funniest thing Ive seen about this is the scene where Arthas kills Malganis being totally botched.

If Ulti bothered to read the user reviews he exalts so much, he'd know they're not aimed at the original game, but the crappy updates made to it. Not that Ulti cares about facts that don't square with his many interconnecting narratives anyway.

Oh what the hell, how is this worse? they put more effort into this one than just a regular attack animation
I know we all want to hate Reforged but let's not automatically assume that different = bad
There are very few changes in the campaign (and even less later on) but the few I noticed were welcome
They also made Sylvanes death resemble her death in Warbringers
