Id Invaded beated. Pretty good show! I like the style a lot, the cast and pacing were good, and the character interactions were good quality as well. Hondomachi and Sakaido were fun characters, and the serial killers we saw were mostly good too (the Challenger was a freaking badass). The one disappointment is that the solution ot the mystery was stupidly obvious in all the worst ways. The final battle against the mastermind was pretty solid at least, so it wasn't that big a deal. Enjoyable overall!

I am needing to catch up on this whole season. Enough stuff has been delayed that was supposed to be next season that is should be doable.

Was informed that the entirety of In/Spectre after that intro was taken up by that single arc, which does not sound great.

Chihayafuru season 3 beated.

I don't really have anything to add that I didn't already post about at some point this was fantastic--exceeded any and all expectations I could have had even as a fan of the first 2 seasons. I love literally every character. (Ok, except maybe Yumin but I don't think she did much if anything this season)

I guess one thing I can say actually which I sort of implied above is that the show's character writing really got a lot stronger in season 3. It was never bad by any stretch, but in many cases seasons 1 and 2 felt a bit like the Taichi show where he completely stole the spotlight any scene he was in, and all the other characters were only "pretty good". Here though not only did Chihaya and Arata get tons of great development, but also side characters like Shinobu and Harada got strong character arcs to push them right up with the most lovable characters in the show. Hell, they even managed to completely sell me on characters like Sumire and Suo, and that is no small feat considering how put off I was by their archetypes initially. And then on top of all that Taichi--who was already one of my favorite anime/manga characters from just S1/S2--was still easily at his best throughout this season.

Speaking of Netflix Jail, finally went through Beastars. Truly an excellent adaptation, the bad first episode was nothing to worry about. Studio Orange is an absolute monster.

Chihayafuru 3 is the best yet, yes. I think there's enough material for another season, and I hope we don't have to wait forever for it this time.

I'm only 5 episodes in, but it's definitely not trash. It just....like....it's really whatever? The ingredients are there but it's all store brand. I care about Madoka because of the characters. These people are mobile game cash grabs. It's just so hard to get invested.

Like, yeah, some of them are aesthetically cool like smug hat girl, but that's because they were designed to make you want to spend money on a gacha.

It did seem like an anime that would be much better if you actually played the game.

Haven't watched it yet as I'm not that far in the game's story.

Having not played the game, Magia Record has all of the aesthetic and style of Madoka and basically none of the substance or other charm.

It's worth watching if you liked the original series, but it's not something I'd fault anybody for taking a pass on.

I do want to say the actual production and direction is excellent and feels genuine, just only so much you can work with. Kind of like how I just cannot get into the Grand Order stuff no matter how hard I try.

Watched the first 3 episodes of Eizouken. It's definitely solid so far but I wouldn't say that I love it. Reminds a bit of Shirobako both in terms of the type of show it is and in the fact that apparently a lot of people see something special in the show that I just don't. I like shows that are creative, but I don't think I necessarily like shows that celebrate the notion of creativity, especially in cases like this where it almost feels like the show is using that as a crutch. I realize for many people this is probably the point which would make that comment seem silly, but I guess I just fundamentally don't engage with art in a manner that is consistent with that vision, for one reason or another. The OP is fantastic though.

I also dropped Science Fell in Love. I've definitely seen worse shows, but this was far from good. I eventually realized that I was only watching it for Kanade and that most other scenes felt like chore, so I finally decided I didn't want to deal with it anymore.

Konosuba movie beated. Fantastic movie! Lots of laughs and lots of focus on the best character. Just a really fun experience overall. Man I hope this gets a 3rd season or another movie or something. Its too good to not keep going.

It's just very... unremarkable? It doesn't have the same emotional pull as the first one. Like the mc is not portrayed like she's suffering through a major crisis like Madoka was and the side cast is not being utilized as well as in Madoka magica. I think im like 10 eps in or something and it was only very recently where I felt like an episode had weight to it.

Two more anime finished.

Asteroid in Love was...okay. I dunno, there was something lacking about it. Some episodes were good, particularly in the second half, but the group dynamic was really weak, and they didn't focus enough on Ao and Mira's relationship to make that good. Had fun yuri potential, but we got none of that. The last four episodes introduced a couple new characters that fit better into the group, but they were only around for four episodes, so they didn't get much development anyway.

Also watched Eizouken. Very good stuff! Ending was disappointing though. The other two anime were both excellent, but I found the third one boring. The rest of the show was all cool at least. The characters are great, and I like the focus on doing the animation. Kanamori's characterization is real interesting, and the other girls are excellent too. One thing I was kinda thinking as I watched it is that the show was like a cute girls doing cute things club show, but if it were made by someone who had no idea what any of the common tropes were. Everything feels original and fresh and meaningful. Comparing it to something like Asteroid just makes it look so much better.

Kaguya-sama S2 - Kicking the season off with a sequel to a show I didnt really care for and dropped after 3 episodes. How exciting

SNAFU S3 - I just cant see myself ever getting back to this series. Havent had any interest in it at all.

Sword Art Online Alicization Part 4? - Not actually sure what part this is and dont care.

Tower of God - This thing is apparently pretty popular and people are hyped even though Ive never heard of it before. Sounds like it could be interesting so heres hoping its good.

Fruits Basket S2 - Might watch this series when its done.

Soma S5 - Ok this has gotta be the actual last season now so will probably check out soon.

BNA - Easily the show Im most interested in on this list so far. Studio Trigger is good times. Too bad its NETFLIXD.

Gleipnir - I swear this was on the chart a season or two ago...anyways its probably something Ill check out.

Kakushigoto - This is by the SZS creator so of course Im gonna check it out.

Otome Game blah blah etc - lmao

Yesterday wo Utatte - Wow, the rare series where the MC is a university graduate. Its a coming of age drama too so hey might be decent.

Bookworm S2 - The first episode of S1 was so boring I forgot this show even existed.

Appare-Ranman! - Remember when PA Works was something to be excited about? Back in the era of dinosaurs when they made good anime. This series sounds like its crazy enough to be interesting, but Im dreading PA Works will find a way to make it boring or terrible....

Fugou Keiji: Balance:UNLIMITED - Detectice who thinks money is all that matters meets kind detective who is repulsed by his material desires. God this sounds boring.

The 8th Son? Are You Kidding Me? - 25 year old isekaid into the body of a 6 year old who is the 8th son of a noble family. His name is literally Wendelin. Wendelin von Benno Baumeister. Also he was born with the rare talent of magic. Wow how fascinating.

Nami yo Kiitekure - drunk woman talks to a radio guy who ends up airing her ramblings. She gets pissed, but then ends up being tricked into doing a talk show explaining herself. Well this might be amusing enough to check out.

Shironeko Project: ZERO CHRONICLE - Huh this is based on a game. Just gonna assume its a mobile one, but I might check this anime out at least since it doesnt sound terrible.

Houkago Teibou Nisshi - Cute girls go fishing.

Princess Connect! Re:Dive - Another one based on a game. MC has amnesia and goes on delicious adventures with cute girls.

LISTENERS is a whole lot of original Eureka Seven blood on the staff. As far as original shows, definitely my most anticipated.

No Re:Zero is hurting a lot...but hey, maybe it'll be for the better in the long run.

Mecha and singing is literally the premise of Macross! And many of them are great. The original SDF Macross is a good place to start. Definitely holds up IMO, for the most part.
