it probably shouldn't make the bracket. in fact, almost every big wii u game has been deprecated by other platforms. mario 3d world and nsmb u gets beaten out by two other mario games, xenoblade x gets beat out by xenoblade 1 and 2, smash 4 gets overwhelmed by ultimate and there wasn't a zelda game worth mentioning on the platform unless you count breath of the wild. it's legitimately like the platform doesn't exist. its biggest game might be mario maker?

Wii U probably won't have any decent games. even if Smash 4 is in..it gets beaten by quite a few games.

I love Bayo 2 but it's probably fodder.

Strongest Wii U game not named Smash or BOTW(since its a multiplat) is probably Wind Waker HD.

You can use a stylus for Mario Maker 2 if you play in handheld mode. It has to be a capacitive stylus to work with the Switch's touchscreen.

Dark Souls did pretty well in Games 2015 and it's probably gained some strength since then, so I'd expect it to do well.

I mean, it's not beating a big name Nintendo game or something, but if it gets pitted against any FF game, I'm taking Dark Souls no problem.

Define big? Could it beat out games like FF13 and FF15? Sure absolutely. FF15 is probably a midcarder at best. Its not going to beat any of the favourites. I mean the only Zelda games it beats is Skyward Sword and LA remake. Then again most games could beat Skyward Sword

In fact looking at the strongest games indirectly who have we got? Obviously take out BOTW because we all know thats going to win this thing with ease.

SKyrim imo is overrated. I'd take Witcher 3 over Skyrim. Its gone downhill in terms of popularity imo

You know what i want? I want PErsona 5 in the same bracket as all the FF games Just so i can see it tear those asses up good time.

Hopefully Persona 5 avoids smash ultimate/Zelda BOTW for a good chunk of the ocntest. ITs my real Darkhorse for sure with God of War being another

But idon't know how strong God of War is. its my personal Game of the generation.

I'd take it above A LOT of games. That game legitimately did welll in GOTY despite being up against a fucking Juggernuat in BOTW. ITs a lot more popular now and with Scramble as well it will be even stronger.

it would be so lame if smash 4 made the bracket, there's just no reason for it and it would be taking a spot that would be better taken by some other game, even if that other game is a LOT weaker

There is one good reason for Smash 4 to make the bracket: so it can be seeded against Ultimate in Round 1 or 2 in order for us to get a hilarious SFF blowout in a contest that will (hopefully) otherwise lack them.

Well, I'm kind of hoping Allen avoids setting up a bunch of SFF matches the way he did in the first GOTD, but we'll see.

oh it's absolutely going to be stronger than Galaxy 2 (sadly, since it's the best Mario game)

I wouldn't expect it to be anywhere close to BOTW though. Unlike Zelda, there hasn't really been a super strong Mario game since the N64.

mario 64 is a legit juggernaut though. Odyssey probably will never be.

te only elite tier Mario games are world smb3 and 64.

odyssey I would take to lose to a handful of games even non Nintendo.

Sunshine has enjoyed a weird second life as a speed run game. it's not mario 64 there but it's one of the bigger ones out there and that seems to matter with this crowd.

that's a terrible match. no one would care who won that! it'd be like Pokemon X/Y vs. Sword/Shield or Sun/Moon or whatever. sure, maybe it's competitive, but nobody actually cares about the winner. both FF games get worked against anything with a legit fanbase. sure, it'll beat some indie game or some western game nobody actually likes, but other than that it's going to go down pretty hard.
