A little potted plant that's been sitting in the same spot in my house for over a year was suddenly super infested with ants last night and it made zero sense. Like there were never any ants before, and then I went to water it and looked back later to notice every square inch of the plant and the pot was swarming in ants, and there was no trail leading to it. It's like they spawned out of thin air like some Egyptian plague bullshit.

yeah i've been having problems with ants too. it started last year during summer and they would usually be in the kitchen/bathroom. pest control got called and i was told that because it was so hot and dry they were just looking for water. they went away eventually. they came back this summer and it was the same deal. but this time they lasted longer and something new that happened was that i would now also find them swarming over the trash can in the bathroom. i was wondering what the fuck was going on and eventually figured out it was the tissues i jizzed into. that also never happened before. they were like evolving or some shit.

Yeah I first noticed them because as they were fleeing the soaked pot they had spontaneously occupied, they were forming a thick stream slowly headed towards the kitchen garbage can. Protip spraying them with Lysol kills them basically instantly. Sprayed the whole stream and wiped them up with a paper towel. I stuck the pot outside by grabbing it with some pliers (and then dropping that outside too because the ants were already all over it).

also damn seriously amazon delivery people why do you so consistently fail at locating the front entrance of my damn building

every single time they go to the back entrance, see there's no buzzer and no way to even enter through the first doorway (because it's the *back* entrance).... and they just give up instead of realizing it's not the front entrance

like if they just go to the front of the building they'd see quite clearly what a front of a building looks like but they can't do it
