Yeah, I could but I don't really think of Edward's as a substitute for Ramza's. But I'll pick it up when Diabolos rolls around if I don't have another gen 2 holy chain by then. Or get Ramza's on the refresh like you said.

Actually he does make a good substitute if you have his BSB which has a 50% attack boost (as well as holy imperil)

Good news for today is I got sub-30 on the X torment after taking Tidus's awakening on the select. (I know it's also in the anniversary selection thing, but my plan is to take Ingus there because I don't have any of his three items). Hopefully we get some good stuff to look forward to from this maintenance!

I finally got the II Torment sub-30d after getting my Emperor (with AASB) and Minwu to 100 magia.

Frankly, the more torments I do, the less I can understand how people have been sub-30ing these on release, without magia, awakenings, or modern magicite decks.

My sub-30 have all been achieved after getting at least 1 AASB in the corresponding realm... well, except VII, but that one has AASB-level USBs.

Haste/shell/protect doesn't have a timer anymore! Unless you get dispelled it lasts forever (which will be helpful in these long 3 Million+ HP boss fights) Other than that yeah it was a standard event translation maintenance.

I managed 4 D??? Sub30s without Awakenings, 3, 5, T and T-0 (almost counted 12 but I guess Penelo does count) so I don't think it's as impossible as long as you have the right USBs, but I'm still baffled how anyone sub30d the FF13 one day one. I barely did with an Awakening and 6* Magicite.

I did 5 sub-30 torments without awakenings... ironically VII isn't one of them. Some Torments are definitely harder than others. The ones I did were III, VIII, IX, XIV, and Tactics. For all of those I had a pretty complete team with USBs on at least 4 of the characters including a buff and a heal. And none of those fights have any real bad gimmicks like Zodiark's paling or Jenova's tentacles or Wrexsoul's sleep status.

I'm down to three torments left: I, XII, and XIII. For I and XIII my tools are bad, for XII I'm just afraid of Zodiark. But I have awakenings for Ashe and Reks so it's probably time to try it.

I wasn't having too much luck with doublecasts, but I got the job done. Now I can save those crystals I would have used for that monk skill. Another AASB-less D??? done! Though I guess having the Ramuh magicite doesn't make it much to brag for.

I'd been thinking I needed two healers since my #1 problem was staying alive, but since I didn't have Elarra's G+ I needed some other replacement for DVG. I have Y'shtola's glint which gives hastega, shellga, and protectga, but I had a problem with her where her USB2 doesn't give last stand on entry (instead the brave level 3 command gives it) so I didn't think running her + Elarra would work since I still have no instant last stand. I I tried Sarah instead since her bUSB has last stand on entry, she can allegro, her L3 brave command gives an instant action which helps make up for the loss of Elarra's USB. Just like for the hardest 5* magicite (Syldra) two healers was the key!

Yeah instant cast is super important for the last phase, I try to save up two USB2s on Penelo for the last phase so I can refresh Maria's enEarth and squeeze as much time as I can of Maria Awakening and Rinoa Sync, then use their AOSBs and then OSBs if he's still alive (you never want Phase 3 Ramuh to get to savage level 3!)

I did the second AOSB select for Lightning's AOSB to help with Leviathan.

Manticore should be able to take out the savage mode for the most part. He did for me when I was still using Squall USB2 as my main DPS.

Have you done the Awakening Dream Select yet? If you get Squall's Awakening you can make Syldra much easier with it.

You defintely want two healers for Syldra. If you have Squall's BSB I'd use that and cut Noel. If you don't have it just grab it from the Anima Lens shop, it's cheap. Laguna will already be imperiling so Noel with just his imperil USB isn't as useful.

I still need to tackle both Syldra and Typhon. No gen 2 chains, only ice chains I have are Rinoa's and Fran's free one. I figure Rinoa for Typhon and Fran for Syldra? Or Fran for both, since I have her imperil USB

Do you have anything else for Rinoa? If so I'd use her for Typhon.

Fran won't really contribute much against Typhon beyond being an entrustbot, and Rinoa's chain has the valuable quick cast 3 on entry.

On the flip side for Syldra Fran is the better pick there if you have one of her USBs.

I have more for her than I thought. BSB2, ice chase USB, bUSB, and earth/ice AOSB. Have 3 of her LMRs too, but not the enice one (though I do have en-earth).

Edit: Her entry is quickcast 2 I believe, off of her chain. Also, for Fran, I have her ice imperil USB which also gives gives quickcast 2.

The bulk is real. It wasn't until about 20 seconds in that I started doing REAL damage. Used steal defense for the first barrier, but couldn't for the last 2, because it was under AASB and I didn't want to waste any turns. But maybe I should just risk it. Also, Rosa was great for the Mblinks, but I may switch to Elarra USB1 for the regenga and quickcasts.

Edit: That's 11/16 down. Ark, Belias, Adamantoise, Typhon and Syldra left to go.

Oh my bad, Rinoa's chain is QC2 not 3. Still you want to stick with her since Typhon is a DPS race so the faster you kill him the better.

Also I gotta feel sorry for poor Hades in this event, he didn't even get an attack off. Ramza IC his chain, Orlandeau and Lighting used their USBs, Agrias had gathering storm and used her USB2, second turn Lightning used her USB again, Ramza used Titan, Penelo used USB2 and everyone used Assault sabers to finish him off.

Subbed in Elarra for Rosa and gave her Curada and Warrior's Hymn. Took steal defense off of Bartz, and gave Vincent Armor Breakdown instead. Improved the 28.28 to 24.71. Should be in the 23-26 range moving forward. It's relatively smooth sailing after breaking savage, with only phase 3's savage flash freeze causing an issue, hitting for about 7k

So I tried Leviathan tonight and I got about halfway, main problem is the doom timer is way too short for how bulky this guy is, even with 2 AASBs I can't do enough damage fast enough to beat the timer, well maybe I could but he loves gimmicks that waste your time like the bubble and attacks that lower your doom count, and that stupid 5 second doom on slot 1 I have to time Kain's impulse dive to avoid. I guess I'm gonna have to make reraise just for this dumb fight huh.

Geez Leviathan is a headache, he's not that hard himself but the doom gimmick is really frustrating to deal with. I'm trying the reraise everyone, for then reset the timer but it's hard to pull off because you have to have Kain jump over the 5 second doom move, so his HP isn't even with everyone else. But if you take too much time in phase 1 even if you get everyone reraised and godwall'd Leviathan will use an aoe 5 second doom. I think the key thing I'm missing is Elara USB2 or Glint because they don't have last stand or regenra.

So I was doing some calculations on how many times I have to farm certain magicites (excluding the 5 that I still haven't beaten). Need a few more Mateus to inherit to one of my other blockers, two more full Famfrits to inherit to each blocker, and a couple other here and there. But if I want an HP 8 on every double dampen magicite, plus the blockers, I have to fight Phoenix like, 44 more times... And if I want to add it onto the double empower ones too, that's a whole shitload more.

Yeah, that fight doesn't sound very fun. I still haven't gotten my 4 Ramuh kills, partly because that fight is still awful but partly because I'm not that motivated to try to get them out of the way to fight Leviathan. Also I just realized I still need like 19 more Magicite kills this month for my 5 mythril so I better get my auto team going.
