The powercreep in Aigis is pretty bad these days, but there's been a fair amount of units, free or otherwise, that make the game not so unfriendly for new and/or lazy people like myself. I even started a second account to see how far I could go with the one broken unit I rolled for.

It's definitely showing its age by now though.

I'm excited to try the Dragon Quest game but isn't it several years old already? I have a feeling that it's going to feel pretty outdated at this point.

Thank god, thank you Sajo! I've been looking forward to DQ a ton and I've heard great things.Boggles my mind how I don't see it mentioned at all when I skim gacha communities anticipated games.

Come to think of it, I rerolled 10 times and only got the guaranteed 6 star. Then I rolled once or twice. So its like I got no 6 stars...The gacha simulator is far more generous than the real game :<

Well the best way to beat Arknights is get 2 tanks, have 2 rangers, one of them being Kroos and the other one being the next best dps you have (I rolled Exsusai for the guaranteed 6* but I'm pretty sure she's unnecessary. Kroos serves all the same functions but a little less potential dps), 2 aoe units preferably one being magic, rest are misc with one of them being the free medic, one of them being a dp charger. So 8 spots filled, the rest you can just trade around depending on what you need for a stage

That's it. As far as I can tell, as long as you change your flex spots to either fit in more tanks for more blockage, warriors if you have enough blockage and need more dps, more magic if they spam shield units, you'll beat everything

Kroos as far as I can tell is one of the best units because she's ultra easy to max and upgrade. Just upgrade her and spam ranged/dps recruit in the timed recruit thing to get her -2 dp to summon. Next thing to max is your AOE dps, then just lvl up your tanks so they can survive longer. DP recovery units should fill any slots you're not sure about

The problem is that it's just not varied enough. The above strategy can beat everything, the rest being levels or upgrades you need to pass the damage check

The problem with that is that my only tank is Beagle. Well I also have Lorenzo von (HIMYM joke) but hes not SilverAsh levels of good, so I wont use him. I prefer to use team waifu, and will put up with stupid amounts of grinding to remain true to that :3

Tanks are probably the least important part of the core. They're literally there to block units. You can even use the dp recovery or special units for the tank role if they block 2-3 units. Beagle can do anything any of the higher starred tanks can do

The most important thing is to just max your dps first. Maxing Kroos and your AOE dps mage might even make it so you can just field warriors instead of tanks.

I just use tanks because they're more reliable for all the stages, and I'm lazy

Dang, you were right about Kroos. I brought her from level 1 to E1 and she tears through stuff like I thought only Exusiai could lol. Although that also made me curious as to who else would benefit that much so I also E1d Plume and Fang and now Im kinda poor :<

BTW who do you suggest for an AoE mage? Im using Gitano. No idea where the name Gitma came from lol

I dunno who's a good AOE mage, but I'd just use whatever's available. I'm using Gitano too. The most important thing is that you're using any AOE mage at all, since they're gonna be the only way to deal with certain waves

Do you have Skyfire? I like using her for my AoE mage. I'm saving up banner currency now for Eyjajaja's and Ifrit's banner. Ifrit looks niiiiice

I dont...My only AoE mages are Gitano and the freebie (F12 or 12F, I forget which lol)

You can just use 2 single target mages too tbh. It's probably better to use 2 mages on those big boys that melee dmgs don't do anything against. Or a slow guy and a mage does the job too.

God fucking dammit. I was stuck on 2-3 because I didnt realize you could drop a block in front of the bottom opening, since they only put those block symbols in the other 2 places. I was like how the hell am I supposed to kill those armored dudes when my mages cant reach them <_<

You can block just about anything except the last path that would let enemies pass. I think 2-3 was annoying but you just have to make em go as around as possible

I'm currently stuck on S2-4. Or stuck for me, I guess, I've tried it twice and lost both times. Mostly once the elites show up alongside everything else and I get overwhelmed.

Most of the Ch 2 stages can be beat by using the movement impair unit they give you, 1 tank, 2 rangers, and 2 mages, and any appropriate healers to counteract any ranger killers

Yeah, I'm sure it's something I'm doing wrong with my placement

I looked up what I did for S2-4, that one took some tries to see what was the best way. But imo the best way is to block the 2 recommended spots and then block the middle hole and make to go all the way around. Put some mages and such along the way with medic protection, put the bulk of your melee units to the right, have rangers cover those melee units. I think I put the slow mage on the top right. She can potentially die but she won't if she has a medic in her range.

My tank also heals adjacent units, which is also a way to keep the slow mage alive. That stage isn't that heavy on ranged attackers tho

It's not actually. Someone crunched the numbers and even if you had 100% crit the whole time which is unrealistic, Shishimai is only barely better than a 0UB Cupid.

I would hope the lower ones remain useful, as some higher ones can have high DP costs, making it not always practical to bring a whole squad of innate *5-6 (assuming one even has enough yet to fill a whole squad).

And while increasing an operator's potential can reduce DP cost, it isn't going to be easy getting dupes of the *5-6 for that purpose, or that operators who start at *5-6 won't get as many potential boosts overall (so less DP reduction bonuses compared to someone that started at *2-3).

Speaking of rarities, apparently you can only assign *5 or lower as your support unit for others to borrow, which seems like another reason to not worry much about *6s if neither you *or* your friends can spam them whenever.

It also makes me wonder if some operators cap at *5, meaning you always have ones that can be support units while others eventually lose the option.

Exusiai is a ranger through and through. She has a supportive passive at her final promotion, where it gives her and one random ally some random stat buff (not a fan of the randomness tbh). But everything else she does all have to do with DPS.

My 2nd non-free offer 10 pull went all 3-4*. Why are the rates in this game so freaking bad?

I'm more pleased that Cliffheart was also a freebie, now I have *two* snow leopard waifus. Slowly but surely I'll get my all cat and bunny squad, or "feline and cautus" rather.

Speaking of which, I was genuinely curious about the various races of Arknights as there's dozens of them and it's not always immediately obvious what somebody is supposed to be (not everyone with horns is a cow, not everyone with a bushy tail is a fox, etc). So I went digging around and found these.

You know... I kinda might be coming around on Arknight. Recently been training Projekt Red and she has a Gemcraft-esque drop effect where she stuns and damages stuff around her if you deploy her. She's also super cheap to summon and can be retreated. If you time her well, she can eliminate some serious threat. Not a fan of the pushing mechanic though... but at least the pusher units don't really need to level up

But this game could use a 5x speed, a hell a lot more clarity, and more tools without having to grind out the ass.

Welp, finally got a 6* from a random roll. SilverAsh is mine muhaha. But seeing all these warriors that have pretty good skills... I'm sorta wondering if I should ditch a few tanks and field those defensive warriors that attack all units they're blocking. I might still use Nearl though, the blonde girl in the story that looks like a centaur cuz of her cloak. She's like a healer/tank. Also got Estelle who's also a defensive warrior. She heals herself for every kill that happens around her, which is a pretty cool skill.

I think you guys already talked about how to do recruitment well, but yeah watch out for certain tags. Survival and AOE guarantees Estelle or Spectre

I started the game two days ago and she was my first Super Rare build. I was also lucky enough to build Queen Elizabeth to go with her. Really enjoying the game so far!
