Hello! I used to play Azur Lane for like 20 minutes and F/GO for like 5.
Is Arknights any different?
I need a mobile game to keep me occupied out of the house.

Need more details as to why you dropped AL and FGO. Is Arknights different with what?

Also I installed Monster Hunter Riders, it's pretty fun so far. I'll give it a week or so to see if it's something I'll stick with.

The actual gameplay aspect was pretty...unfun, for me? I guess?
Like collecting peeps and boats was nice but I guess I need more.

What I like about tower defense games like Aigis and Arknights is how you can experiment and work with what you have, and figure out your strategies from there.

If you're lucky to have multiple 6* units to trivialize a hard map (like me using Ifrit on the aforementioned HX-3 map), go for it. If you're stuck, there's usually a dedicated community of people submitting F2P/low-rarity guides for each map. If you're somewhere in the middle with useful units, but unsure how and where to allocate your time and resources, you can look up guides of both and work your way from there.

Aigis was particularly brutal and unforgiving with failure, though that did make victory sweeter when you do it blind/first try/minimal effort. Even with its rampant powercreeping nowadays, there were definitely some older year 2-3 maps that had you scratch your head until you looked around for strategies.

Poison map, dragon that does AoE damage, and a princess NPC. Without having multiple healers or DPS to control the map, what should your first option be? Deploy a solo healer directly in the dragon's range to slow it down by making it waste attacks on the one healer, while you take control of the rest of the map. Far from my immediate thought process, but that one strat alone opens a lot of possibilities for others to follow.

Only two of them (the collaboration event and the new variant of Hibiki that's not related to the event) are actually important. The release celebration bonus is a one-time thing, and the other two are just rate-ups for specific characters for people who want to pull/whale for their specific waifu... which mine for this franchise happens to be Hibiki. So I pulled from her booster gacha and for the new X-Drive Hibiki, and it was worth it.

I casually threw another 12K on this banner after my spending 21K on Shining/Saria banner, out of all the gachas I've played (excluding Destiny Child) this is seriously one of the more generous game. What game lets you farm gems for free every week and allows you to do 10x pull every 2 week lol. If that's not enough, lower rarity units are . . . WHOA actually more than just usable instead of acting as fodders for SSR.

The only downside is once you completed a map, you just auto farm for stuff until the next event/banner. I feel like I'd be doing myself a disservice if I just look up guides anytime I'm in trouble and taking out the only time I'd be playing it. This is one of the better gachas out there in the market.

Going to start operation E1 Lv.30 all my operators tomorrow. So I can try using meme teams like full tank/guard/sniper/caster to clear some maps.

Lucky bastards. Top Operator tag is probably the coolest thing ever though. I got a Siege off it some time ago. Thank god for being able to specify, but putting vanguard with my tag was pretty scary. Had to research if Top Op tag could get overwritten

Rolled 8000ish stones worth of rolls... got 3 5*s off it, no Eyja T-T and no Ifrit. But really wanted Eyja in particular cuz my god she's amazing.

What was originally the 1st anniversary event on the JP server is coming 5 months early for EN players. It's bad for people who wanted to save more magia stones for her (like me) but could also be a good thing because it means she might also be re-run an additional time for that first anniversary in June. She's already been re-run twice in JP after her initial banner, so even though she's technically limited, we should have multiple chances at her.

Spent 4 multipulls tryna get Hisumena in Another Eden and didn't so...I uninstalled the game lol. Not solely because I couldn't pull her but because I had been kind of growing bored of the game recently since I got into Duel Links and not pulling her didn't really give me any incentive to continue playing.

Yeah, as much as I kept going on and on about using guides before, that was only because it was a time-limited event and I didn't want to miss out on the rewards.

Now that it's over, I can go back to bumbling and dumb-lucking my way through missions the old-fashioned way.

I was completely wrong about Gravel. She's actually pretty amazing. You can pretty much leave her at E1, where she is only 4 cost to deploy. It pretty much makes her like a summon but don't require the summoner and can be infinitely redeployed.

Basically you deploy her for her barrier and use her to out-prioritize enemy hitting order. Enemies always prioritize the last unit deployed, so all you really have to do is put her in range of an enemy caster but depending on the situation, even put Gravel out of the way just as a meatshield so that the caster still walks into the range of your other units.

She's also really easy to max potential since fast-redeploy tags nearly guarantee her lol

The first major story arc in Symphogear XDU is starting soon. Kanade Amo, the previous wielder of the Gungnir Symphogear who died in the very first episode of the anime (wait, do I still need to use spoiler tags if it literally happened in episode one?) and whose death was the catalyst for the entire story, is being added to the game as a playable character. The story arc explores an alternate universe where Tsubasa was the one who lost her life in the concert attack instead and Kanade lived on to fight against the Noise alone. As someone who watched and loved the anime, these new alternate stories are the main reason why I'm playing this game.

On a side note, the pull rates in XDU might be even more generous than I expected. The three new non-event units that have been added since launch (X-Drive forms for Hibiki, Tsubasa, and Chris) all had the same conditions on their banner: you were guaranteed to pull one copy of the unit on the first, third, and fifth 10-pulls you made on the banner. You need six copies to max limit break a unit, and you're guaranteed three of them within five 10-pulls. I doubt this will apply to every banner (especially not for major events or limited time collaboration units) but it does make limit-breaking certain characters much easier if you have the gems saved up. I actually managed to get all six copies needed to max limit break X-Drive Hibiki in six 10-pulls.

I've already read some pretty bad horror stories about people pulling for Ultimate Madoka and not getting her. One person had saved over 10,000 magia stones, enough to reach the pity 4-star at 100 pulls four times over, and still didn't get her at all. For a goddess whose entire existence is to save magical girls from their despair, she seems to be spreading plenty of despair for Magia Record's player base. I didn't even make the attempt because I don't even have enough magia stones to reach pity once.

Yeah, I'm not expecting to get out lightly, either. I had 1100+ cubes going into the Polaris stuff, and wound up wasting 250 just to get Gascogne. Maybe RNGesus will be kind this time, though.

Long awaited Ch'en banner on Arknights atm. She's a waifu and a big flashy charismatic character in the story. Supposedly in China, this banner shot the game's revenue up pretty big.

She's pretty good and a crazy nuker of sorts. Not necessary to own her but would be great if I pulled her in 10 pulls, cuz I'm still pining for Eyja

Exusiai never goes niche. She's the best ranger and most of the best players recommend you build up at least 2 rangers.

A lot of rangers go niche mostly because they no longer have enough attack to do more than the minimum floor damage. But Exusiai has the advantage of being a 6* as well as having high damage mods on her skill as well as her random buff, which would suck if it went to HP%.

So yeah you should definitely get her one day. Maybe save up dem tickets

Another new event banner was added to Symphogear XDU today, bringing new bridal gears for Hibiki and Maria. I know XDU is spitting out quite a few new banners in succession, but almost every banner gets re-run multiple times later on, so there's no reason to try and pull from all of them. Only special collaboration events (like the AoT one that ends soon) don't get re-runs. I'm satisfied with what I have for now, so I'm saving my song stones for something big later on. Not sure what yet, but I'll find something.

I will repost this on the next topic. Dragon Quest of the Stars is a disappointment. The battle system is automatic (as far as I can tell) with the player only choosing commands when they pop up. I wanted the Dragon Quest battle system. Also it's a item gacha rather then a character Gacha. This isn't a deal breaker but I did want Dragon Quest characters fighting along my side. I will play it for a while, since I'm a Dragon Quest can but it isn't what I was hoping for.
