Why is it such a intolerable thing for you?

I was at Grammys funeral and the eulogy went on a tangent about the crisp refreshing taste of coke and how I could get a kfc branded casket for my funeral. They snuck in the old spice whistle in the middle of taps.

If its an obnoxious ad then sure

Pretty much. Some ads are so irritating, I will almost go out of my way to not hear them ever again

Most ads are shit about shit I don't care for. Also more and more are obnoxious and intrusive.

They're getting so low. The fact I see children with down syndrome being used to sell products and make money is not great.
I mean, it represents us well. If it didn't work, they'd change it. Advertising is getting so emotional now. They're trying so hard to mess with us.

I only really mind when the ads waste my time or otherwise interfere with what I'm trying to do. I'm also not altogether keen on the whole practice of collecting data to help advertisers manipulate me better, which is kind of inseparable from advertising in general these days.

Because I don't want to buy something I don't know shit about and the point of an advert is to sell you a thing, not to sell you what you want.

Stores should advertise their products on their and their distributors' premises' and sites, I do not want their stuff if I'm not looking at that kind of stuff right now.

I don't, mostly. In fact, I don't even block ads that are text or static images, nor do I block regular sites' ability to serve me ads. For example, I get those silly Taboola pictures at the bottom of every page here. If an advertiser serves me any video or audio, that's when they get blocked. I have only 38 rules in my block list currently, and most of those are advertiser root domains.

• Commercials are almost always boring.
• They usually interrupt whatever you're doing.
• I almost never want what they're selling.
• They're often cheesy and occasionally very stupid.
• They are reused so often you get sick of it.
• If we extend advertisements into the world of pop-ups, now we're talking about malware, and other harmful stuff.
• Pop-ups can be outright filthy, advertising "sex chats" and the like.

If advertisement didnt have the very occasional benefit of actually showing off a nice, desirable product, there would be no redeeming factors for ads at all!

Might not bother me as much if ads didn't count towards data usage.

I dont mind them except when watching something on a website(like CW) where they have normal commercial breaks and it's the same ads over and over. Nothing will make me never want to buy a product like having to watch the same ad 6 times in an hour.

Sometimes advertisements are extremely sexist. Make assumptions about my life. Try to "shame" me for not owning that particular product. It's kinda annoying. Sure, if you have a thick skin....you can just kinda shrug it off most of the time. But when it is relentlessly thrown in your face.....and you just aren't having a good day....it can wear you down.

Examples:

Products for men preying on a man's masculinity. Being macho. Being a man. And if you don't buy [insert product] you are somehow a "sissy" or "less of a man", etc.

Products for women preying on superficial looks. Needing to be thin. Attractive. Dolled up to impress men. Needing to be desired. Needing to have someone romantically in your life at all times or you might as well kill yourself.

Yeah. I don't like being advertised to.

I think you're reading in to them wrong. You seem to think they're targeted at the entire gender and bullying half of them when really it's just targeted at half and not the other because that's not who the product is made in consideration of.

Repetition especially once they started targeting ads, just seeing the same two ads over and over and over and over.

Also i can be streaming something at 1080p just fine, but once it has to connect to the ad server the ad needs to buffer like 30 times, and then that also somehow fucks up the video i was watching just fine.
