It's been a long ride, but I am down for another experience. Not at all impressed with their Exilecon stuff, and it seems like they kicked up their powercreep even more with the new league and Path of Exile 2. Game is no longer the same game I started playing and hasn't been for a long time now.

I have a feeling they are going to make the game harder, no one is going to enjoy PoE if you can just mow through everything with any build without any real threat. Not to mention in some ways most patches have powercreeped the game the difference is they make the enemies harder mostly at the same time.

Ascendancy used to not be in the game that was a huge power increase etc..

Provided the basic mechanic of linking support gems to ability gems is preserved, I'm actually okay with that. 6-linking a main ability is a major power boost that's tied pretty much entirely to sheer dumb luck, and while that statement can apply to just about all ARPG loot mechanics, I always felt like 6-linking was just a little too unlikely for how central it was to many builds. I'd rather see 6-linked abilities become more attainable (preferably via something skill-based, rather than pure chance) and have content balanced around them than have to struggle to keep content from being either trivial with 6-links or impossible without them.

They said the 4.0 update won't launch until late 2020 at the earliest, so there's little point in statements like this now. It will look very different and you'll be at a new stage of your life by the time it comes out.

If theyre doing away with linking what are they doing about all the orbs of fusing?! I played a bit on console and was saving a bunch to 6link my weapon but never got around to it since my friend that I played with quit.

I mean getting a 6 link in a new league was pretty freaking easy/fast...you could generally get one within a few days without trying to hard (not a great one mind you), and then work up to something better eventually.

Tabula was super cheap to get a 6 link main armor initially as well. Not sure how/what they are replacing it with but I doubt it'll slow down anyone who is willing to trade at all.

Perhaps that is why they are removing it, since everyone can actually get 6 links so easy at this point....the who concept became pointless.
