Every night you should be coming home and selling something, creating something, learning something, etc.

You should be constantly leveling yourself up.

9-5 jobs are for people with kids at home. If you're only working 40 hours a week and you DON'T have a family, get a part time job. Most people watch three freaking hours of TV per day. 21 hours per week. I don't watch any, and have a 20 hour/week par time job. You watch TV, I make an extra $600/week.

Video games are all I have to look forward to anymore, even if the only ones I can play right now are mobile ones due to being homeless.

It's just because dollars are a convenient way of quantitatively measuring your 'utility' or 'benefit' from the time - i.e. did you make the most of your day. If there was a way to measure all those other things with a nice single number then I'm sure more priority would be given to other uses of time.

For me? I like to be deliberate and make the most of my time. I like objectives/goals whether it be achieve XX at work, spend time with kid, tidy up house, etc... not all of it is paid, but it's deliberately productive. I also set time aside for relaxation to ensure I don't burn out and that can be productive even if it looks like I'm just lazing on the couch watching Netflix.

But if those people who grind their lives away on mmorpgs or mobile games where u click on buildings and have to wait out a timer for them to upgrade then those people are wasting their lives. Because those games are designed that way to entice people to buy boosts and speed ups.

I think it's healthy for both people in the relationship to have work/things to do. That's when you really appreciate the limited time you get together.

My wife and I both have interests outside each other's own hobbies/entertainment. So yeah I'll agree it's important for both of us to work, enjoy the things we did before knowing each other and then enjoying time together as well.
