Something is seriously wrong when a person puts a pets life above another human being.

Would you rather save your pet or a child? If you genuinely consider you pet there is a social disconnect. Think of it the other way, if someone choose a Chihuahua over you. It's sick.

I agree too. I love animals, but some folk's obsession with them is creepy. One person where I work has a bumper sticker that is like Proud Pug Grandparent. it freaks me out.

Let's say you saved your dog over a person. What if that person was a mother, or father and you helped some child become an orphan all over your pet that will die in a few short years. It's sick that you're willing to ruin multiple peoples lives over a pet.

I mean from a non-biased viewpoint they probably would be considered equal. And if were talking about from the view of nature or something more macro that just a humans viewpoint most animals would probably be considered more important since they arent actively destroying the environment for everyone around them.

So while Im not someone whos gonna pick a pet over a child I also think most arguments for why the child should automatically be picked without question are pretty stupid and dont make much sense.

For starters yes they are. Cows are one of the biggest polluters on the planet

For 2, animals are only being
domesticated because doing so benefits the "polluting " society you are poo pooping. Take away that society and these animals are either extinct or ripping each others throats out

I would save my dog over the vast majority of strangers.

As much as I love my dog, I agree that people take it way too far when they anthropomorphize their pet into a child. I know this one woman who wants to throw her dog a birthday party when it turns a year old, I'm talking like a birthday party a kid would have with cupcakes and a party and shit. We had to remind her that dogs don't give two shits about birthdays or how old they are.
