OMFG!!! The GOPs came out swinging attacking Schiff about the whistleblower, and Swalwell just asked that Trumps threats towards the whistleblower and talking about how they handled thing back in the old days to be put into the record.

THIS SHIT IS FUCKING CRAZY!

The weak, easy-to-push-around Dems have left the building! Now entering the no-shit-taking-hard-hitting Dems.

Its like Clark Kent just jumped into a fucking phone booth with the closest kryptonite is 100,000,000 light years away!!!!!

IM MAKING POPCORN FOR THE NEXT HEARING!

Honestly, I won't believe that the Democrats have grown a spine until the next Democratic president is sworn in on 2021 and refuses to bow to the urges from the craven and the compromised to pardon Trump and spare him from jail, "for the sake of national unity, and to end this hyper polarized era"

You KNOW that shit is coming. GWB fucking tortured people and never even stood trial b/c the Dems didn't want to be "dividers." Only Republicans can be that. Dems are supposed to just let the Reps get away with shit and move on, "be the bigger man."
Hell, I bet the second that there's a Dem president and Dem majority Senate, the Republicans will say we need to restore the filibuster, too.

You speak the truth.

Stone is asking Trump to pardon him. If Trump actually pardons him... jesus christ, it's a fucking admission of guilt.
If Trump pardons him, he loses his ability to plead the 5th and congress can compel him to testify.

And yet whos holding impeachment hearings and whos trying to obstruct?

It took them a ridiculous amount of time to start impeachment hearings in no small part because Nancy Pelosi is a "centrist" (read: "conservative in blue") idiot and she and others like her were holding them back.

There was plenty of material to work with before the Ukraine call.

Look I'm not defending republican obstructionism here. Those guys are like a fucking cult. I'm saying that the democrats have wildly mismanaged their response to Trump and made themselves look painfully inept and weak. It began right from the inception of this whole mess when they threw their populist candidate under the bus in favor of Hillary "It's my fucking turn!" Clinton. They ran one of the highest profile Washington insiders against a man who's campaign was largely about how washington insiders are ruining the country, drain the swamp, etc. Doesn't matter that he lied about it. He sold that message and Clinton couldn't combat it.

Trump's term is practically over. I understand that he HAS to be impeached to set precedent that presidents must be held accountable for this kind of thing. But beyond that, removing him at the tail end of his term, if they even can, is pretty impotent.

Edit: Is that sig an Aquabats reference?

The reason the impeachment hearings took so long to start is because Democrats wanted to ensure that they wouldnt be facing a backlash in the 2020 elections. They didnt want to enrage Trumps base in a way that would cost Democrats the House again and possibly worse if their impeachment attempt failed miserably (Trump winning a second term) But the way its going now, they have Trump by the balls and he keeps digging himself deeper into a hole.

And in the meantime, they allowed him to pass a number of terrible measures like getting funding for the wall, stripping various environmental protection laws including gutting the endangered species act, and most damning for the Democrats, he passed tax reform that set small cuts for middle class families which are set to expire in, I think it was 2021, alongside massive cuts for corporations that aren't set to expire. It was a calculated move by people smarter than Trump so that when 2021 rolls around, they can say "See? President Democrat is raising your taxes now because they can't extend these deficit-raising cuts on your family! The democrats want to take all your money!"

They had enough evidence with Russia. They had enough evidence when he fired Comey. They dragged their feet and dug themselves into a hole and it cost the country many millions of dollars spent on aiding the rich and building a useless wall.

Remember when the Mueller report was supposed to have Trump "by the balls?" I remember. I didn't believe it for a second. The democrats are allergic to taking action.

Read the whole post, please. "I understand that he HAS to be impeached to set precedent that presidents must be held accountable for this kind of thing." I agree that impeaching him is important. That's why they should have tried sooner, but Pelosi and Schumer are cowards who don't know what direction the party is moving in.

I disagree. The Ukraine stuff is the perfect thing to impeach him over. Polling even shows its much less divisive then any other dumb thing he did. They couldn't do anything until Jan 1, 2019 anyway since they needed a house majority. I agree impeachment was always going to be an important issue for democrats since they talked about it so much before the midterms but the issue they chose to pin him on was definitely just as important.

Well I also disagree with your assessment. Especially because it's very similar to the whole Russian debacle, the key difference being that he wasn't president at the time, but he was still openly inviting a hostile foreign power to meddle in our election, which they then did. I don't think waiting a little for more public opinion to shift excuses all of the shit they let him get away with. Especially now that impeachment hearings have started and we're seeing public opinion shift as they go on and more comes out. I think the same shift would have happened if they had started them sooner. But we're both speculating here so it's hard to say who's right about that one. That's my take though.

How can somebody bribe somebody with money that a country already publicly vowed to pay? The anti-Trump coalition just gets zanier and zanier. And in general these impeachment hearings might seem to have more weight if coalition members weren't also calling for impeachment *before* Trump took office and some of the claims weren't so outlandish ("Oh, he decided to just randomly call somebody in a restaurant and talk loudly enough that we could hear him even without the phone!") that they wouldn't be believed except by fans of the constant faux scandals.

By withholding said money as a bribe in return for favors that would have benefited Trump, not the nation.

They didn't simply eavesdrop on the president, genius. There are staffers whose job it is to make transcripts of White House conversations. People were listening in on the phone call for the express purpose of making a record of the call.

I think his tweet and intent can be open to interpretation. I think it is a clear attack. But... on its own, it can be subjective.

Now, as Adam Schiff said, it does display a pattern on behalf of the president. And that pattern is one of witness tampering.

So youre right.

Youre right. I mean, if folks actually took the time to read the Mueller Report they would have demanded his impeachment months ago. But this is where we are. Facts dont matter.

And the same people that talk about needing guns to protect themselves from a runaway government are the same ones eating this shit up. You know, the ones that need guns to protect themselves from a corrupt government but did nothing while Bush passed The Patriot Act just because theres an R next to his name.

Trump and the GOP love the poorly educated. Supposedly they love the vets too but this week we saw Trump pardon military criminals but shit on a law abiding Lieutenant Colonel because he chose to speak the truth.

Knowing is half the battle.

These guys have their guns but arent even fighting the good fight.

Weve been lead to believe that its the GOP that cares about the servicemen, immigration reform, the rule of law, the national deficit, etc. Trump has helped expose that theyre full of shit and only really care about making whatever argument best suits them at the time.

Also, the inquiry continues to be a fantastic failure by the democrats. Like everything else they've done in the last... god knows how long.

But I am sure that continuing to promise free shit to losers and illegals will achieve much.

But all your posts consist of crying about the left

But nope. Hes totally innocent and everyone else is out to get him.

Heres one of them trying to play the role of merely an intelligent observer but then melt down when confronted with actual facts:

I love that the GOPs strongest defense is that none of the witnesses who testified at the inquiry said Trump explicitly told them he was withholding aid in return for an investigation into Biden, but the White House refused to let those who may have direct knowledge of such a scheme testify. Because, you know, that's what innocent people do.

If this were a court of law, there'd be more than enough evidence to convict. But impeachment is a whole 'nother animal. Still very much an uphill battle, but those Republicans have to know that any American with a functioning brain in their skull knows Trump is corrupt, self-serving, and treasonous. Writing is on the wall if the Democrats can field a halfway decent candidate.

Bingo. Trump's legal team knows no one is going to perjure themselves and risk prison for Trump's sorry ass. Next best thing is to keep them from talking at all

Everyone knows that it's impossible for anything someone does to be considered a criminal act unless he loudly shouts, "HEY, I'M COMMITTING A CRIME! HEY, YOU! CAN YOU HELP ME COMMIT THIS CRIME? I JUST LOVE BREAKING THE LAW!" or the like as he does it.

TDS? You mean the thing that originally started as Bush Derangement Syndrome, then became Obama Derangement Syndrome and now is called Trump Derangement Syndrome? The thing that medical science has yet to certify as as an actual ailment?
