This game is infuriating as an Ohio State fan and I wish I could look at it impartially. It feels like we have been the clear better team by a decent margin and yet due to missed tackles and flags we are somehow losing

There wasn't many controversial flags. The only controversial play was really the fumble call.

You could do that for just about every single play and find holding. They missed the targeting also. However, since they could review it they were able to get it right.

Acting like a singular missed call changed the game is silly. Anyone could go find missed calls on Ohio State also.

I understand not being able to send it for review for that particular penalty but once you're already reviewing it then any penalties on the play should be on the table.

There was a lot of play after that but that was absolutely a momentum changer. From 16-0 and 4th and 13 to 1st down and then a TD

Yeah, that isn't how it works. You are only allowed to review specific calls and those specific ones.

The only place I have ever seen where a whole play is under review for a review is in the NBA when they review to see if someone was in the restricted area... Which I think that is a bullshit rule personally. Lol.

But, yeah, that couldn't be called there on that review. It was specifically a review of whether targeting occured.

They might be able to review who left a bench during a fight or if punches were thrown, but yeah, generally only the most egregious penalties are reviewable.

It is just like if you are reviewing a fumble you can't be like well the runner used illegal hands to the face if it blatantly shows it. It is just whether a fumble occured or not.

I think it depends during the playoff era because it is always on a Monday. Sometimes it is right around my birthday. Other times, it is around a week later. During the BCS era, it was definitely done not too long after the penultimate bowl game.

It's actually a huge disservice to the minor bowls and the teams in them to be scheduled after New Years, when attention has largely shifted away from college and to the NFL.

Yeah, all the post-New Year bowls that don't involve the Power 5 conferences are largely a waste of time and get overlooked because nobody cares about seeing bottom tier schools after all the big boys have played.
