Everyone is going to gush about Joe Burrow, but the difference in this game is in the trenches. Hurts has zero time and is pressured on every play. Burrow has all day and can do whatever he wants. Absolute domination on both O and D-Line of LSU.

i am fascinated on what Riley is thinking about right now and in a week or 2.

He seems like the kind of guy who wants to prove his system works but I could make the argument hes never beaten a team with better players than his own. And the NFL has to have an inkling about that.

I still say the ideal system is one where the committee has complete and total power to decide, not just the teams in, but the format itself, which can be changed on a year to year basis.

This year, there were clearly exactly 3 deserving teams. So a 3-team round robin could have decided the issue. Other years, it's 2. Maybe on rare occasions it could be 4. But it's pretty much never any higher than that.

If you think conspiracy theories in college football are bad now, or were bad back in the BCS days, they would be so much worse if the committee could just decide the format and number of entrants on a whim.
