I did finish the interview.

I was rather disappointed by it since the guy didn't know more about DSP enough to bring up some receipts. Him telling people to click on ads, him saying he didn't have enough money to have a pet when he had one the whole time, him telling his fans that all this money is going to taxes, and then come the end of the year he says he didn't put a dime to taxes, ect, ect

I realize that part of getting Phil to do the interview was agreeing not to bring up certain subject, but if the guy wasn't going to ask any tough (or even interesting) questions, then the only point to the interview was getting extra views. Most of Phil's answers were the kind of stuff you can hear during an average prestream.

I find the incident to be one of the less interesting things about him. As much as it has come to define who he is--he will forever be known as the guy that masturbated on stream--it was a stupid accident that shouldn't be held against him. If anything, it says something about him that he managed to get past that without any real damage to his career. The deliberate stuff (ie: the lying, the begging, the way he rewrites history, his refusal to grow or improve) is what fascinates me.

I've watched/listened to the entire thing. I am not going over it with a fine-toothed comb. Instead, I'll highlight some things that really stood out to me.

-Jeremy's opening, calling Phil humble. Now, Phil is a lot of things, but humble is not one of them. Look at any fighting game stream/video and you know why..

-It took less than 7 minutes in a two hour long interview for Phil to start lying. And it was about adsense, explaining how he lost adds, because his fans were clicking them rigourlesly. But there is video evidence where Phil asked people to click his adds.

-Jasper was brought up. Phil admitted that he was going to reveal Jasper, regardless of the goal being met. He said this wasn't a scam, just a way to motivate people to donate. Ironically, this is literally what a scam means.

-Back and forth about gout. Pretty harmless and boring overall.

-Phil kept pretty much repeating through most of the ordeal that people were being malicious, how he changed, how people hurt him etc. Here's a little hint for Phil: if everyone you encounter is in asshole, could it be that the entire world is the problem, or....?

-The racism was brought up, but mostly glossed over. Jokes were jokes, even though it is clear Phil doesn't even do bad takes, completely dissing someone based on their ethnicity is racist. Again Jeremy softballs Phil.

-Repeated several times how bad off he was financially.

Overall, it's just an average pre-stream, nothing new or groundbreaking was shared. And instead of Phil going off for 1-2 hours during a regular pre-stream, Jeremy basically handed Phil the topics to talk about this time.

The whole thing was a huge dissapointment. Nit because of Phil, but because of Jeremy. Even if he flat out refused to do any digging into Phil (and seriously, the down the rabbit hole video isn't that long, and a good place to start), Phil admitting the cat-scam was something he should have called him out for.

Also, as a closing note, Phil is full of shit. He will keep defending snorting during his stream because of post-nasal drip. But during the whole thing, he didn't snort once, nor make any other gross/obnoxious sounds. He has ZERO respect for his audience.

You'd think the interview would get Phil some extra attention on stream, Phil believed so too. But during the MineCraft stream he struggled to get even 300 viewers.

Our hero also has trouble managing the pre-stream music, looping it to be exact. But here is the kicker, you can make your own playlist and you can loop/repeat it. Yet Phil struggles with this. This is also the man who wants us to believe he put a bike together.

Also, something strange happened. Phil got Close to 120 dollars in bits/tips from someone named survivesweettreat. The twitch account cannot be found. No name change, no ban, it's just gone. Phil just somehow keeps finding people who throw latge sums of money at him, and then are just gone. Is it coincidence or is he playing some fucking advanced 4D chess? You be the judge.

But survivesweettreat isn't an isolated case. King tut, Emerald7, went as fast as they came, leaving behind ludicrous amounts of money. PlanetJeff, who feels he should squander his dead wife's money, Sidella and Blindman, people with actual handicaps giving their dissability checks to Phil.

It's weird, I want to use a different word that is a stronger one than juat weird, but I just don't know such a word.

Oh, and then there is Papavera, literally paying Phil to explain how MineCraft works.

I just want a word that encapsulates how profoundly weird this entire shitshow is.

It wouldn't have instantly changed people's minds about him, but it could have caused people to look at him differently, maybe even feel sympathy for him. At the very least, he would have gotten a boost in viewership on his next stream when people tuned in to see how he would follow up his revelation. It would have been something.

Like I said in my take on the interview, it was just a normal pre-stream, but Jeremy handed the questions. He did say some mildly interesting things, and his reactions here and there were nervous to say the least. It brought no new viewers to Phil either.

As far as I know, anything Phil gets is taxable, aslong as part of his "business". So even if someone donates a game, he still has to pay taxes over it for example. Now, I may not be completely correct, because taxes work in the US differently even by state, so this is based on what I have read.

Our hero is SOOOO busy, that he barely has time to do anything, let alone get a haircut. I mean, grocery shopping takes up most of his day off.

I also want to point out that Phil has 5,5 hours free time between streams usually from 1:15pm till 6:45pm. So he LITERALLY has the entire afternoon to do whatever the fuck he wants. Each stream lasts 3 hours, so he "works" 6 hours a day, and even if he has only one day off, that is still 36 hours a week, so not even the 40+ hours full time job most people work. If you take into consideration that he does an hour+ pre-stream every time, the time he actually "works" becomes only 2 hours per segment, meaning he only plays games for 28 hours per week. You'll often see this confirmed on his twitter, he'll upload 2 hour gameplay segments.

Also remember that this is the same man that rolls out of bed around 9 am, calling it early. Most people working actual jobs, their alarms go off as early as 5am. His first stream starts at 10:15, so if he actually gets up a 9, he would still have time enough to get in the care, do some grocery shopping and be done with it for example. He would have MORE than enough time in between streams to whatever the fuck he wants: watch movies, get a haircut, clean the house, go shopping, cook/eat meals. But somehow this man, working only 36 hours per week, is fucking swamped.

Also, something that has become something of an annoyance to me: Phil lives with Kat. And no, that is not the annoyance. The fact that he lives in a duo income household. Granted, I am convinced that Kay makes nowhere near what Phil makes, but even if we assume Phil pays for everything like mortgages, bills, utilities, etc. That means that Kat's income is un-taxed in this situation, and they'll have atleast 1200-1500 dollars to spend on whatever the fuck they want together. Yet, Kat's income never seems to be part of the equation.

His insistence that he has no time to do anything is one of the most bizarre things about him. He sets his own schedule, does virtually no preparation outside of the streams, routinely shows up late for the stream, and only leaves his house once a week. Maybe those late nights/early mornings watching Netflix and WWE while drinking gin and angrily tweeting could be better spent doing something else.

Which is the biggest fucking bullshit since homeopathic medicine.

Just upload it, and if it goes wrong, upload it again later or tomorrow. No one is going to fucking mind if an upload is later than "expected" since this guy floods everyone's inboxes with AT LEAST 2 uploads per day. If anything, it would be a mercy to his followers to not constantly spam their twitter, twitch and youtube accounts with his "content".

Also, the other day I was thinking how to best describe Phil in just a couple of words, and the best that I have come up is "zero effort".

You could go on all day trying to "disprove" his lies and all his bullshit, but the best way to explain Phil to someone who is unfamiliar are those two words.

If you take his retrospective streams for example. He just sits there, laughing at the same bullcrap he laughed about then, providing barely any insight or commentary on his behaviour or anything like that. But it goes way beyond that. You see, people could nominate clips they wanted Phil to showcase and comment on during this stream. The kicker? People not only had to provide clips from youtube, but also timestamp them.

Whene ever Phil comes across anything even mildly challenging in the games he plays, he will turn to his stream chat for help. He literally goes through the motions to complete a game. Never will he try to attempt to learn the game's mechanics, patterns bosses have, take note of the environment he is playing in. There is no passion in what he does, and he will get upset at the people watching him, if they don't spoon feed him the solution.

He doesn't try to be entertaining, he doesn't engage his audience, he can't carry a conversation (if you ask him something he'll either say he doesn't have an opinion on it, or he'll give a three word answer ending with "there you go" or "sound good?").

Yet, for all his lack of effort, he does expect people to pay him and will get all whiny and pissy when "contributions" are low, usually guilt tripping his audience.

This is why you don't need to do anything to Phil in order to show him how awful he is. If you leave him to his own devices he'll fuck up on his own. You don't have to disprove anything, just drop by in his stream, witness how he acts, how he treats his audience. In 5 minutes you can size him up and if you are new, you'll probably leave again.

Incidentally, that is something that completely perplexes me. If you are completely new to Phil, you've never been in his channel before, never experienced his content. How would you last longer than 5 minutes, but not only that, what would make you spend money on him? That is the thing that is probably more fascinating than Phil himself.

Patreon? The perks are garbage, almost non-existent--just give him money. Provide entertainment? More and more he seems to be putting the onus on stream chat to do that; it's up to the viewers to carry the conversation. Sub goals? Doesn't matter what they are because someone will just come in and drop enough subs to reach them. Worst financial situation of his life? No attempt to draw in new viewers or give existing ones a real incentive to contribute. Again, just give him money.

Yeah, no kidding that his Patreon perks are garbage. The $5 perk is better than the $10 one, since all you get in addition to possibly picking a game to play is a verbal shout-out. You can donate $1, if you even wanted to, once a month to get the same shout-out. Also, he cherry picks the questions for the Ask a King or whatever it is he calls it, so even if you asked a hard-hitting question for the $20 tier, he's not going to pick it.

Also, the zero effort thing can be easily seen if you look at either his Youtube or Twitch. He spends an hour before playing a game talking endlessly about the same things every single day. He is the ultimate beggar, trying to guilt trip his chat into giving him money. His Youtube is literally nothing but his Twitch streams, but cut up into pieces.

I think that maybe, once, the overdrawn story was true. I believe it could have happened because he was a little too careless and he got overdrawn.

What then happened is that people felt bad and actually "stepped up" and gave him more money in an effort to help out. Phil, realising he got extra money by literally doing nothing extra/more, has now found a way to squeeze more money out of people by just saying "overdrawn".

It's just another tool for him to extract money for either kids/young people naive adults.

The thing with his finances is, there are no real consequences. He'll say he's nervous about being overdrawn and having no money in his account after bills clear, but he's been in this situation all year long. So what exactly happens if he doesn't get enough tips? Absolutely nothing. Wether tips are good or bad, he's still crying every day that he's in financial crisis and needs MORE money.

It reminds me of when he used to constantly talk about losing his house. Spoilers: he didn't lose his house, was never (at least as far as we were shown) close to losing it. He exaggerates his financial woes to bring in money because he doesn't have enough of a connection with his fans that they would support him under normal circumstances. To "earn" the kind of money he wants, he has to continuously promote the idea that he is absolutely broke, that he might literally end up on the street if people don't contribute.

It's disgusting that a good-sized chunk of the money he gets from his fans is going to pay for a property that has sat empty for years. Oh it was fucking glorious, but here is a little backstory.

During sunday/yesterday's stream (timezones) people started asking if Phil would play Unnamed Goose Game (apparantly it's all the hype). Of course Phil started his usual whining that he doesn't have enough money (though the game is only 20 bucks or so).

So then someone donated 20 dollars so Phil could buy it. Phil then reaffirmed everyone by saying that he'll play the game. But not before telling the person that they did it wrong. You see, the person donating him the 20 dollars, should instead have given Phil the code. This was even before thanking the donator. But, he will play the game regardless.

Next day, Phil lets everyone one that he wanted to play the Goose game, but is upset that he can't because he cannot afford it, stating that once again if someone gifted him the game/credits, he would play it for sure.

This pissed off the person who donated the 20 dollars so Phil could buy the game (naturally), and this caused the person who donated the money to contact Paypall to get a refund.

This in turn spurred people to ask about what had happened in the chat, and this then caused Phil to lash out in anger.

The whole situation is magnificent. Phil was lying hard (he had even updated his schedule on Twitter, including the game), was trying to make it seem like no one donated the money for it a day beforehand. Never explains what happened to the money, and instead lashes out.

I really hope that guy gets his money back, imagine the person you support getting so angry over just 20 dollars. This is exactly what I meant with "just leave Phil to his own devices, he'll fuck up spececularly on his own", and lo and behold here we are.

Oh and to make matters worse, during the Sunday stream, Phil made about 200 dollars total, meaning he be more than able to afford a fucking 20 dollar game.

I don't think I have ever seen him this assblasted.

Anyone who watches Phil enough that they feel compelled to donate to him already knows what kind of person he is and that they are basically throwing their money away. It's hard to feel sorry for people like that. It's like looking at a DSP checklist whenever Phil plays a fighting game, with today's streaming being him trying out the Terminator in MK11. Literally the any time he loses, it's always the online lag and he berates the netcode, and how the opponent spams the same move over and over. That's funny, too, since Phil does the exact same thing. In the two opponents he faced that I saw, I think he only used like the same 4 moves the entire time and he claims to be blocking when he gets hit, except he was clearly walking forward a few times.
