Anyway, this fantasy world is sort of nice. Beato is here and it seems her and Battler are just officially dating, and Beato is even aware of what sort of fantasy world they are in, as she knows about Ange's key...

Ange's key which she will seemingly use to decide if she accepts this world or not...?

god this game had better give me an answer to what actually happened in episode 4, how jessica died right after a peaceful phonecall, why kyrie called battler and told him magic existed, how they acknowledged kinzo's presence, how "beatrice" can kill battler when he's alone at the end, and just... just... everything else.

well, wait.

if "yasu" can look like beatrice? (which, presumably they can...? since they are lion, and lion's hair is blonde... and apparently they're an expert at disguise...) then could it be that the beatrice who showed up in episode 2 was yasu...? not sure if that actually adds up, but we'll see.

still, if you're trying to figure out "piece logic", take a look at ange

it really was 6-year-old ange for a while at the start. acting very childish and 6-y and stuff.

but at a certain point, the real ange consciusness sort of would get in the way and be like "wait, this is weird" until it took over

because that 6-year-old ange was ange (the player of this game)'s piece

maybe, in a similar way, piece-battler in eps 1 to 4 could sometimes be "influenced" by meta battler

it probably doesn't actually make any sense though

I forgot to mention it last topic, but it's pretty neat how the Ronove/Virgilia/Gaap trio ended up right next to each other in your ranking.

it's not entirely a coincidence. they all fill sort of a similar role where they have good designs and fun personalities, but no real depth, but also they are beatrice (and by extension now, battler's) allies so they've started to feel comfortable and familiar

that type of character means they'll rank above "people i don't really have strong feelings about or like that much" but below "people who have real depth and development"

i don't get it. why is battler okay with beato killing 18 people, just because they were dating once? i guess if it really all just was a "game" and no one really died, then, uh sure.

but i'm hoping this gets expanded on.

but my god, i have a feeling it won't be.

clair at the end of episode 7 basically said "and you can just figure out my motive by now, i'm sure"

like, yeah, i get it, the motive was love, he broke his promise, but why did 18 need to die? is the game even going to tell me?!

you guys have already implied that the end of episode 7 is the only answer the game is gonna give =P

but let's see how much of that implication is really true. surely they MUST answer this stuff.

anyway, beato claims the message bottles were just fun stories she wrote as part of the game as she was waiting for battler to return

If you're talking about the oddly-specific reference I'm thinking of, then Dels either made a deliberate reference or he said the most oddly-specific thing in the world which happened to be a true spoiler for a certain work of fiction. I find the chances very low that he would do the latter. Like, 1 in a quadrillion type of low.

The answer is essentially neither and both. I was not intending to make a reference. When those lines indicated that Yasu's body is apparently fucked up (from, y'know, dropping off a cliff, understandably), it carries the implication that the body is deformed or non-functioning. But the people we have seen on screen who are "supposed to be" Yasu (I think?) are very well-functioning. So it made me wonder if Yasu is actually disabled and we're just not seeing it because they aren't shown on screen, and I truly had the thought "what, so is yasu just in a wheelchair off screen, and like, shannon/kanon are people he just influences somehow...?". A natural thought in this game which has explicitly told you that you can't trust the things you see on screen. Which I then realized is, y'know, a plot point I have seen before. And maybe I was more likely to think of that option because I've seen it done before, and that's what made me word it that way, but I did actually have the thought independently without thinking "oh, I can make a reference here", though as i started typing it, the wording choice of "conveniently offscreen" was certainly influenced by that

I guess you could say, your motives for posting that were complex.

good news is umineko doesn't have a high bar to pass if it wants to have a more satisfying ending than that

turns out wrapping up insanely convoluted 100+ hour plots is hard

but my god, at least try to have a climax, please, umineko.

i wonder if there's actually something more to lambdadelta's design and she does actually represent something based off the ushiromiyas?

i mean, bern is a maid and lambda is halloween, and those are both things from rokkenjima now that halloween is a thing

but is that just a thematic link or does it actually mean something, like that yasu invented them both as well

me, making my way through episode 1: maybe i can analyze the game's themes, they're a bit subtle, so maybe i can add some new perspective that people might not have already gotten?

is this a clever segue into like

please just suddenly shift into having actual gameplay, as everyone quizzes ange about the first 4 games and i have to pick correct answers for who did each murder and how, and i get medals for getting them right

the chapter description even said there'd be a string of logic games

it's basically telling you "hey, we're gonna go through each of the murders and finally answer them"

welcome to umineko's final chapter, where there's no mystery in sight and you're just solving riddles made for a 6-year old

anyway, everyone has meta awareness now as eva feels bad about how she treats ange in the future. kyrie says that eva did the right thing keeping "the truth" from ange, implying that even this happy-land-kyrie is aware that she's a psycho killer. probably what bern showed us last time was the truth, like i thought.

ange, with her slice of cake: every single person who takes after me increases my chance of getting the almond, as well as every person who checks their cake first. the order is super important.

ange, deciding who to riddle: "i have to challenge everyone in the end so the order doesn't matter"

apparently this next one's so hard i might need to ask eva for a hint! pffft, i don't need that. (yes i will)
