I'm not sure what you meant. What's a call out and who got them? I don't remember the details of that episode.

I mean it really doesn't matter what Kumasawa or Genji say, ever.

The fact is that basically, as easy as it was for all the characters to speculate, "All the servants were in on it"

Shannon's the killer, Kanon doesn't exist (?), Genji does whatever Shannon wants because she's his master, Kumasawa is probably basically the same, she can't seem to say no (plus she was paid? Money was sent to her husband, 20 tons of gold means you can bribe/blackmail her?) and same with Nanjo

No clue if Gohda was bought the same way

But as of now, it seems plausible to basically suggest that any and all the servants were willing to cover up crimes or be accomplices...? So, I mean, a lot is possible. lol

Krauss spoke to Jessica (Kyrie to Battler, and Shannon/Kanon to George and Jessica) and said they were calling out from a dungeon, dropped in there by Kinzo. During the events of episode 4, no one at any point said Kinzo was dead. So what happened in the dining hall?

Tales woven by the gold truth return to illusions.

I somewhat came to the conclusion of, "If the game itself saw fit to not actually tell what happened during the earlier episodes, it must not have mattered that much." Which may be a bit petty, and maybe not even actually TRUE. But it is how it feels to some extent.

I mean, it doesn't matter tremendously to me. The whodunnit was all I ever really needed. But I'm still curious.

And, I also think that whole thing is something that worked better when Umineko was new and everyone was talking about it for months. I bet every death in every episode was way more discussed and well-known, so it was easier to take what Will said and apply it to the earlier murders. But for me, reading this over the course months on my own, I have NO IDEA what happened during which specific epitaph of any given episode. So if I DID want to take Will's answers and use them myself, I'd basically have to replay the game right? Which seems like a crazy amount of time to devote to that.

right.

if you were following the game online between episodes, you'd remember everything that is in erika's notes, and this stuff cyouni is reminding me of would be stuff i already knew, and it'd be easy to just go back and be like "okay, right, shannon's death wasn't confimed. oh, the servants found the chapel. etc"

in other words, this game is designed to be experienced by discussing it with others on the internet, whether that means that's how you read along with it for years, or you just finish it on your own and then have to go online (or reread the game) to get the solutions

Okay, well, I don't know how I'll be able to pull myself away from this thrilling sequence (remind me why the game's final "climax" is us sneaking into a magical library to steal a book...?) but I'm too tired to finish this tonight.

I'll get back to this tomorrow morning and power through to the end. Again, someone please tell me how much I have left...
